  3. lol i dont eat any kind of mushrooms. not even the funny kind. but im not going to get into that here. lmao. i have never seen this before. and they are just tiny things. any idea other then me being on drugs :P
  4. so i went downstairs tonight to turn off the lights in my 120g tank. Watching my fish and on the side of the glass i noticed some blue stuff. then it quickly changed to white and dissapeared. And it wasnt on the glass it just looked that way. It was a number of times. It almost looked like electricity. being curious of course i shoved my hand in the water. lol nothing happened. If you ever touched one of those blue lamp balls , where the white electricity touches where your fingers are. it reminded me of that. only little pieces and all over. Fish are fine. And im not the only one who seen. it. Just curious if this is ok, normal , bad or anyone had it happened before. Thanks. Jen
  5. Welcome to the forum. I have family that lives in hinton. Havent been for a while.
  6. I wouldn't keep angels with dicus. but all the others are good to go. Angels aren't the best tankmate for Discus, the general reasons are that Angels may carry parasites which they can deal with fine, but Discus can't, and also that Angels are more aggressive and Faster than Discus, and therefore outcompete them for food etc. i would add some more discus and be good with them.
  7. thats horrible. have you tried diluting it. It could help it. Sorry to hear that your allergic to it.
  8. maybe you could make something. Thats like tweezers but that bends........ Try stabbing the fish with a needle or something and yanking it out. lol. or even a fish hook if its small enough to fit. Im thinking of stuff around the house that might work, but im coming up with nothing. Ill get back to you if i think of something. Maybe you could also leave it outside in the sun. Until everything dries up and turns crusty.............. then get it out that way.... That way it doesnt stink up your house anymore. goodluck
  9. tweezers, butter knife. Pry him out. I think tweezers would work best. I had a gourami get himself stuck in a a hole in my castle. I used 2 butterknife's and vasiline to pry him out. Keep in mind he was still alive. But if this guy is dead im sure you dont have to worry about hurting him. You could try vasiline and tweezers. He must be completely in there. Not even a little of him sticking out? You could also try rinsing him out. Im not sure how well that would work . but if you could move him around in there with water and get a little bit out of him. like his tail, then you could get him out with tweezers. Thats what i would try first. Hope that helps. Jen
  10. Salt http://www.bestfish.com/fwsalt.html http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/treatmen...altiinfresh.htm http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=AP1423 Loach profiles- http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/637.htm Some reading material. I hope that helps and your fish get better. Goodluck
  11. the only reason i would feel nervous about adding salt to a tank. Is a tank with loaches. That being said. I would rather use the salt method then any other method. Also i have no experiance with ich meds. The one and only time i have had ich. I raised the tempature for about 7 days after the last ich spot was seen. The only reason i never used salt was because of loaches and plants. but their advice is very good.
  12. People are trying to help you and your fish. They are experianced fish keepers. I would take their advice and listen to it because its really good advice.
  13. well you loach must be different then ours....
  14. the only thing good about rubbermaid tubs is they are cheaper then glass tanks. that is if you can get one large enough to have as a grow out tank. I have a bunch of these things laying around and when the babies got to big for the 15g they needed anything bigger i could give them. I think until i find something to stock the 80g with i will use it for a grow out tank.
  15. lmao. i thought someone would comment sooner on that. we are actually looking for a bigger grow out tank the tub is only something like 22gallons. im thinking of putting the bigger babys in the 80.
  16. i do i have yours. The discus are hiding behind everything. look harder . Just like where's waldo
  17. well here is some more update pictures. My 120gallon set up. i know its not really in my fish room but it is showing the progress of all the tanks. And mainly i wanted to show my dad. I will probably move the 80gallon down there tomorrow. I am already enjoying having mostly all my fish stuff in one room. and i even have a mini fridge down there for there food and stuff. So it will be really easy soon. And as you can tell i like to take pictures. 120gallon 2-15gallons
  18. thank you. I still need to get a few dozen more tanks before they are all in and stocked and my room is full. I have the whole complete setup in my head. but for now it will only be the few little tanks i have. Im hoping to move my discus into the 120 in the next few days. Then i can set up the 80 down there. So hopefully i will have more pictures by the middle of the week.
  19. Said like a proud Grandpa all true though.
  20. Those are cool. Thanks for sharing.
  21. i know everyone has had this happen. Its just really exciting for me cause its the tank my 2 year old thinks is his and for him to have his fish have babies for the first time. Hes so happy. We have them in a little container for now and he wont leave them alone. Hes watching over them and taking care of them. And he runs down to the fish room to make sure there arent anymore in the tank. I just thought i would share.
  22. thanks. the room was originally supose to be an office but we decided that we had more then enough room in the smaller room for two computers. That i could take the big room for my fish room. Being lazy i decided not to put the 2-15 gallons down there yet. but heres some pictures of it now. Its just a starting point. The 10g- and the stand that was built for it today. It needs to be painted one day the 20,30 and 20some gallon rubbermaid container 10g again and my cluttered closet. The spot where i think i plan on putting the 80g The 15's will go beside the 20g for now.
  23. its 10 feet by 11 feet. I absolutly love the color. And this way i dont need backgrounds. It looks really good through the tanks. And brings out the colors of the fish.
