  1. Sorry to hear that pimpdocta, was there any recent additions to the tank, that's what started my problem. ~~Ray~~
  2. Not the best picture. I will get some more to add. ~~Ray~~
  3. Big Al's had them, I will try and get a pic put up today. This is my first attempt with puffers so I've got a lot to learn yet. I usually have African and S/A cichlids. ~~Ray~~
  4. It appears to be Carinotetraodon irrubesco, light brown body, with a few speckles and one larger round dot near the back tail. I will try and get a picture to post up soon. He's way more active at night though. I woke up this morning and I could see lines in the sand from him. Pretty cool little guy. ~~Ray~~
  5. Well I picked up a Red Eye Puffer yesterday, he seems to be doing well. I put about 10 small snails in with him and gave him some brine shrimp. The store said they get pretty big, but everything I can find on them say they only get about 2", so I might pick up one more to put in with him today. Thanks for all the help and info. ~~Ray~~
  6. Thanks farleyfish, yes the tanks been emptied, completely cleaned out I even resealed it while I had it empty. Filters been changes with new media as well. I boiled my sand, and baked my rocks. Not taking any chances. So I will be starting up again soon. ~~Ray~~
  7. I have a 55 gal tank I would like to setup for some freshwater puffers. I'm looking for information about their environments, hardest type of freshwater puffers as well. This is going to be my first attempt with puffers so as much info as I can get would be appreciated. ~~Ray~~
  8. Thanks, and he's got a personality big time. When I'm cleaning the tank I can actaully pet him. He can get up to 16-18 inches. He's currently about 13. Lifespan for Oscars is 10 yrs + so he's got lots of time to go. ~~Ray~~
  9. I can relate. I just recently had the majority of my community tank die off. Did you recently add any new livestock. I'm pretty sure I know what happened in mine. My levels where all good, no aggression, it was mostly peacocks and a m/f pair of electric blue, an electric yellow and 5 aceis. I picked up a male O.B. peacock from Big Al's put him in my tank, about a week later he just died. Then within a day 2 more in the tank died, then it went downhill. within a week I lost 18 fish. Pretty sure the one from Big Al's had a parasite or something because my tank was doing great until I got the new guy. ~~Ray~~
  10. I finally got some nice pictures of my Oscar, so I thought I would share. He's about a 1.5 yrs old now. Hard to believe he was only 2 inches when I got him. ~~Ray~~
  11. I currently have 2 Albino BN in my tank with my peacocks / electric blue / electric yellow. Never had a problem. The one BN has been in the tank a year, and the other one was added about 2 months ago. Hope you have better luck. ~~Ray~~
  12. Ok thank you Valerie, I wasn't really sure, I started doing some reading up on them today after I posted that. I agree, for a freshwater tank I don't think it would really add any benefit. Thanks for the replay. ~Ray~
  13. Hello everyone, I don't know much about these. I'm just curious if it would be worth while to get one for my 130 Gal tank with African Cichlids or not? Any feedback would be great. Thanks ~Ray~
  14. I'm no expert on this, but I had one of my ruby reds do this a few months back, a buddy of mine who's had cichlids all his life mentioned a damaged float bladder. ~~Ray~~
