  1. Massive.. Absolutely massive. If I was near Calgary, I would be tempted in purchasing some just for the graphite. https://surplus.gov.ab.ca/OA/ItemDetail.aspx?AuctionID=16138
  2. Easiest live food cultures with respect to requiring the least amount of input, care, etc?
  3. I'm probably not understanding the problem completely - so I'm guessing it is not possible to mostly drain the tanks for an afternoon - while you rebuild the shelves to get the bow out?
  4. +1 Hydra Had one show up in my tank once - but I think my endlers made short work of them.
  5. Can you send me some spec's on these? Are they from Digikey or ??
  6. I have a tub of Silicone Grease - didn't work. I will try this! thanks
  7. having some trouble with an older fluval 205 - I have a spare seal kicking around (brand new) and that didn't seem to resolve the problem - I don't see any gunk around the seal contact area - is my filter shot?
  8. I agree with jvision - some 2x4 put in would be good. If you have trouble getting the 2x4's in there, you could cut them short, then squeeze some PL premium / subfloor adhesive in there - strong enough for your house floors, strong enough for your tank. Along with the places mentioned, "The Find" often has old tables / desks.
  9. @biodives: Curious - I'm generally against certain internet freeisms that abuses user data - but what do you mean in particular
  10. You may as well go with a larger 5 - 10 pound setup if you have the space. Putting cost aside, your time to refill the Co2 is worth something too.
  11. Tried asking them a question - never heard back. Hopefully they are legit.
  12. http://www.bigalspets.ca/multi-stage-canister-filter-c-220.html 60$ seems like a really good price.
  13. Besides Fissidens Fontanus, what native aquatic moss species are out there?
  14. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Plant-seed-Glossostigma-elatinoides-similar-Hemianthus-callitrichoides-aquarium-/151884473956?var=&hash=item235d052664:m:migF1nhg-VXJNoMs_yyIq1g I have no idea if this is legit, thought it looked curious though.
  15. Would it be safer to buy a seperate PSU unit?
  16. I read that algea spores are in the air....
  17. Eheim 2215 is currently going for 100$ in Edmonton. Typically 1$/gallon on AlbertaAquatica, unless the tank is in perfect condition, often more if out on kijiji. Broken tank, no idea.
  18. I don't think the shrimp are going to function very well as little worker drones in your filter :-\ I know in my filter it just ends up collecting brown sludge, which I don't think is very shrimp edible.
  19. Must be the fluoride they pump in Edmonton water
  20. Woa, I tried to make a green water setup and it wasn't successful, and you get it in your Brita without trying :-|
  21. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.1-38-inch-wet-dry-diamond-hole-saw.1000652656.html http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/5-pc-diamond-hole-saw-kit/A-p8139867e I think the pack from princess auto was on sale a few weeks ago for 35$. No idea on the quality. I have the one from homedepot. I've done a lot of drills with it through granite. It works well. I agree with Jvision, you want to make yourself a hole guide, don't free hand it.
  22. I think it makes sense! I'm not sure how you got the humidifier to fit, but I think I understand your approach to everything else. Thanks for the explanation.
