  1. Just wanted to say thanks for all the friends i made while i was in calgary for the last 3 years, i met alot of really great people. Sadly i have now been back in bc for the last couple of months. I will probably not frequent this site as much anymore, maybe drop by the odd time, you can always catch me at bcaquaria if you got questions. Thanks to all the friends i made and the Calgary Aquarium Club for taking me in, hope you enjoyed those tool kits. Shawn AKA Nicklfire
  2. anyone got a few of these snails i could grab, i got some hydras in my shrimp tank
  3. this guy could probably make you some too: http://www.gtaaquaria.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3218
  4. http://greenleafaquariums.com/co2-drop-checkers/kh-standard.html http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/ae-design-4-dkh-solution-250ml-p-1447.html That's the only place I know of where you can buy it... many places dont carry it because it only costs like.. 1 cent to make it.. Make a big batch of it.. like 4 liters.. and you will be pretty accurate. Keep in mind those drop checkers are not always EXACT. They are a good reference but not always correct
  5. good luck to anyone coming from edmonton, we are supposed to get 15-25 cm of snow for tomorrow.. EEK
  6. excel is a aquarium product used to supplement carbon rather then dosing co2.. these other "medical" chemicals... are pretty much the same stuff just more powerful and not typically used in aquariums until someone figured out its the same stuff almost.. There are always health concerns using these type of products.. even excel is not supposed to come in contact with your skin.
  7. some medical supply stores carry metricide which is what i'm thinking that your talking about. The only excel alternative that i know of. ON BCA we have a sponsorship with a medical supply store called Bowers medical, they sell a 4.5 L for about 20$ . I'm sure if you got enough interest you might be able to get that price down even further and then they could ship it to you. Lots and lots of people on Bca are using this with good results, but it is a pretty diluted solution so care must be taken. Shawn
  8. what was the error and where are you trying to upload them to? personally when i upload pictures to a thread i just use photobucket.com to upload then past the link here, i find it easier and pics are bigger
  9. i think this is what your looking for http://www.crustaforum.com/board/showthread.php?1512-New-Compatibility-Chart&highlight=crossbreeding
  10. you brought them in as of recent, even with the cold weather? If you got them from Frank...then i know how good quality those things are
  11. did you buy these local?
  12. pay for it over the phone, then i'll pick em up for you and ship them greyhound collect
  13. I'm in need of a PAR meter, wondering if anyone in the club has one i can rent/borrow for a few days. I'm having a issue with plant growth, cant figure out if it's my co2, my light intensity or my circulation. Having a PAR meter would help me narrow it down.
  14. I havnt had the chance to fully configure it yet, cant figure out how to turn it on for the seconds yet lol, really have not invested much time into figuring it out but i am on holidays tomrrow so i'll have lots of time to get it configured then i'll let ya know for sure ;0
  15. In the coming month or two i should have some good plant clippings available
