  1. I believe Big Al's in Edmonton has a few. Could be Goliaths though. Don't remember the price sorry man.
  2. Could be due to the heat, my fish were freaking out a bit yesterday. Had fans going, and ice packs in the water.
  3. As long as I don't get low balled hopefully he will go to a nice home with a big tank. But if someone wants it for nothing I will keep him and he will eventually go from the 150 gallon to the 230 gallon once my 520 gallon is done and can hold all my inhabitants from the 230 gallon. I am so done giving away expensive fish for nothing. It just recently happened to my 22" Aba knife fish. Paid $530 for it including shipping and ended up getting only $70 store credit from the only fish store that would take him. That was after advertising him for a while on fish sites and Kijiji. I figure the reason for this is either people don't have the money and/or big enough tank. This is a rare fish just like the Aba was and like the Aba there is only a few in Canada. There was a list started on "Hoplias Aimara keepers" on MFK and it ended at 19. This was fish keepers from all over the world. So this definitely isn't a fish you are going to pick up at the local fish store. Hoplias Aimara fetch a high price as they have to travel deep into the jungle to catch them now as they are over fished anywhere near civilization. My only problem if I keep him, it might outgrow my 230 gallon and I won't have a bigger tank to put it into as my other tanks will be housing my rays. I know the trying to get rid of rarer fish thing all to well. Had to get rid of a curipira due to her tank leaking. Couldnt even get an instore credit. Mind you that is no aba aba or aimara but it still blows.
  4. Sad you are selling him man, still a baby.
  5. could have internal parasites if he is growing that slowly.
  6. wow, I am contemplating getting some lego and trying this.
  7. Hey Ben, I am digging this set up much more then the old red devil tank. The deco goes a long way sir. -Owen
  8. i am the one selling it, great little catfish. Is fine with the smallest of fish. Mine seems to come out with the lights on quite often.
  9. Lucky, I have a curipira but it doesnt compare to the real thing.
  10. The types I have seen are micropeltes, bleheri, and gaucha. The bleheri and gaucha are good candidates for smaller tanks. ie: 50 gal+ or so The mircropeltes is one of those fish that should not be sold. Unless you have a tank of atleast 600gals for one fish do not bother. Remember the reason why these fish are even being sold/mistreated is because people buy them. I have heared of very few people that keep channa micropeltes for life.
  11. If anyone pics them up let me know, I can add the lone piranha to my shoal.
  12. Make sure to keep them in schools of atleast ten, the more the better. Also throw the usual stocking out the window the more the better. Had 65 of these guys at one point, one of the only groups of fish I felt regretful about selling.
  13. Hey what do you guys have in for crayfish/lobsters?

  14. Hey, I am wondering if there is anyway you could obtain me a Sanchezi Piranha, I have been looking throughout Edmonton for ages.
