  1. I picked up 6 of these guy a few weeks ago (From Big Al's). They had the ich so had to quarantine them, no big deal...they are doing great, eating lots and very active lil buggers. Pisces only had GBR mixed in with Bolivian Rams at 19.99 each....I got my Electric Blues for 14.99 at Big Als
  2. Looking for GBR, Altums, Blue Angels, and Cherry Shrimps

  3. I second that Ckmullin will have what you need, great guy and knowledgeable
  4. 1200 gallon, wow that's impressive...that's going to be worth a penny once its all stocked and setup. I'm also interested in some Altums, I just want 6 though
  5. Sweet pics, that looks like a great time. I was out by Shearwater a couple years ago fishing for salmon and halibut, didn't get beasts like that though.
  6. Very nice, that is massive....any updated pictures?
  7. It's been a while, moved and got rid of my tanks, but miss my tanks, only have a Fluval Flora shrimp tank left, looking for a 90 gal setup if anyone knows of any good deals PM me thanks. Looking to start breeding Philippine Blues
  8. Very cool Darryl, I got some cherry shrimp right now as well in my Fluval Flora, got rid of all my other tanks due to moving, but I might pickup some tanks again in the near future, I miss them already. As far as substrate goes, anything dark will do, as it will make your shrimp pop more, and they will get better color. I use the Flourite Seachem, its awesome stuff, but pricey.
  9. Good stuff, those BN still going strong huh
  10. It's always amazing to see fish spawn and take care of the eggs. Looks like people have already given you some great advice, best of luck. When I was breeding, I had the eggs in a 10 gal tank until they were about the size of a dime, then moved them into the 50 gal tank...Had around 150-200 each spawn. You will want to get rid of all the deformed or flawed fry early on as they wont sell, and just take up space. It's hard at first,..the older they get the worse you feel about it haha at least it was like that for me. It's a lot of fun to raise them, but also lots of work, but worth it in the end. Best of luck
  11. Having bred German Blue Rams, as well as Angelfish with regular Calgary water, I would suggest just trying it out...its worked fine for me, and people have told me that I needed to soften my water. Just keep up with regular weekly water changes and have them in a breeding tank with a sponge filter.
  12. I dont see why they shouldn't be able to eat the daphnia, from what I've read, daphnia is recommended for the smallest fry that are unable to eat bbs. I raised my GBR fry on daphnia for the first week, then switched to bbs. I dont know how big the rainbow fry are, but the GBR fry were so tiny, I had to use a magnifying glass to be able to see them properly (or maybe I just need glasses) either case, they are very small.
  13. I'll speak for the German blue rams, they do fine with tap water, I have had my current pair for a year now, and they are breeding every 7-10 days. I treat with prime, and have them in a planted tank. I'm also raising some GBR fry at the moment, all are doing fine in the tap water.
