  1. Wow ty so much Jason, i wish i knew this before i used antibiotics on my H.c Glosso tank that was full of cyano... what a pain that ``algae`` is.
  2. Oh i sold mine...But i miss them badly. Thank you for the info!
  3. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xtds+meter+water+ro.TRS0&_nkw=tds+meter+water+ro&_sacat=0 but this is the one i use now: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amprobe-WT-20-Compact-Conductivity-TDS-Water-Quality-Pen-Meter-/252000228269?hash=item3aac6253ad:g:9ZQAAOSwHnFVgzwW
  4. Tank: JBJ 12 gallon XD (used a lot for reef tanks) Light: i took the florescent tubes out, creates a huge amount of heat specially if lid is left closed (thanks Hung!) So i installed idea LED's, the tank it self comes with small ''night time blue leds'' those i leave on pretty much all day. Substrate & rocks: ADA Mekong sand (inert stuff) petrified wood (as well inert... as far as i know...) and then a texas holey rock (a rock usually used for cichilds) Filtration: I took the pump and decreased the flow rate like a lot! these shrimp don't like fast moving waters. i keep lots of pourus media in the back. I have covered the filter intake with a sponge to avoid losing the microscopic shrimplets. Heater: fluval E series temp kept at 27-28.9 C Chemicals: i only use SS sulawesi 8,5 and i just did what the label says [conductance of around 270 +/- 40 uS (Mikrosiemens)] I set up the tank last year, i let it be there for a long time so see if the pH was altered by the petrified wood or the texas holey rock, and i didn't see much of a change. I do water changes every week and add SS until the water is at 200. pH is sitting at 8.6 now and conductance is at 390, i made a mistake of not heating up the water when mixing the mineral powder. i'm glad so far everything is going well and ill try to achieve a lower conductance in the tank. gH 30ppm kH 20 ppm To be honest i have no idea how this parameters affect the shrimp but they have been at this rate constantly.
  5. Not to brag or anything but, I had a new batch... Actually this guys are over a week old... The babies that I spotted early on are 70% adult size already. I'll be sharing my set up in the upcoming weeks.
  6. Great video! I have counted 3 babies for me tho... Can't believe you have that many!
  7. All I hope now is that they survive! Ps: sorry double post I Coudnt edit the post on my phone...
  8. Hey folks, got a sulawesi shipment around 2 months ago (more less) and i had a berried one that came in, but dead (duh). Took eggs out carefully and 1 egg hatch but baby (shrimplet?) died almost right away </3. Around the 2nd of this month i spotted a berried female, and today i saw a baby shrimplet close to other adults, all I have to do now is try to take a picture, either with a phone camera or learn how to take good pictures with a dslr with out a macro lens!
  9. it looks like the plastic plants from LFS... me like
