I'll give you a shout. You have to be careful about "excess" co2 in the air.

Suggest to do nothing but pop them to control them if you feel the need. The little popped carcass is nothing but a protein bar for existing fish.

If anything for plants the ratio between nitrate and phosphate and having stable conditions is what will provide success. You can have success with 'strange' parameters however you will find little success with fluctuating parameters.

No good for planted tank? Great water I would suggest. By far Mother Nature provides no zero tds water in any lake, river or stream. If you have issues with a planted tank I'd be happy to look over your water param #'s and give suggestions...one is never to get an ro for a planted tank. what kind of floaters?! poop? more of a gravel vac I think would be in order if that is poop than adding something else to clean up the mess. gravel vac'ing that tank should take less than 1 min.
