  1. I have one and have never had issues. I did do a bypass on my cold so when I was filling the tank it would basically be diluted 50% but that was also 6 months after I checked how that sink was plumbed. So works both ways. Might be a good idea to take a look at which salt you use as well.
  2. Welcome to AA and to your journey with MTS! It won't be long until you're going to be reporting back that you've added a 5 behind all our current tanks sizes :P
  3. Is it getting tense in here? :P This auction is ramping up to be even more exciting
  4. Agreed. It's a lot of fun and don't worry it goes fast if you're waiting for an item. Sometimes too fast so pay attention!
  5. Is this official yet? Or are things still tentative.
  6. Increasing temp and light can and will speed the process up as well.
  7. Thanks for the tip! I'll go check out the LFS at lunch and see if they have anything.
  8. At least that's what I'll chalk it up to be. I have a 300 gallon tank with a 100 sump. My sump has decided to spring a small slow leak somewhere, only way I known is the carpet strips I used to keep it off the floor are wet. So I'll have to start some spare filters and throw all the media up in the tank then drain the sump. Problem is any leak needs a silicone patch that could take up to 7 days to dry. Or is there another way or faster process? If anyone's walked this path or a similar one before any advice is appreciated Haha. Thanks for reading.

    Hi!

Welcome! New to the hobby or getting back into it....or been in it for a while new to the forums?
  10. I tried all methods I knew off, ladders, reactors, ceramic discs, wood, directing into powerhead, etc. The one that I liked the best and got the best results from was a co2 atomiser. You can also get inline ones as stated by BowMaster. This is one that I used on one of my tanks. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/super-CO2-diffuser-atomiser-planted-aquarium-for-plant-tank-S-/231020558572?pt=Decorations&hash=item35c9e5f8ec&_uhb=1 You can get different sizes rated for your size of tank. I had a 75 gallon tank. The bubbles off of this unit were so small and fine it was almost like a mist. Because of this I also used a lot less co2 and managed to get awesome results. I positioned it below my hydor powerhead so that any bubbles that managed to rise up before diffusing got swept up in the current and pushed throughout the tank. Hope this helps, here is a pic of my tank with the atomiser on, it's coming from the black tube between the powerhead and the tall rock.
  11. Tank looks awesome and I think you got a good size. 50-90 gal tanks are a great area to play with as far as tank size goes before you get into expensive upkeep or equipment or time investment. But denzkyasia says You will probably get hooked into multi-tank syndrome haha we all do Welcome to the hobby!
  12. Tank mates are oscars and peacock bass and some pleco's Tank is 96*30*24 Parameters are fine on all fronts. Took some pictures tonight, think he is sick which is why he isn't eating. Transferred him to a quarantine tank. Upped the temp a bit and added some salt until I can figure out what the next step is. He has white spots on him but it isn't ich I don't think. His poop is a bright green so that would indicate parasite? I read that when some hobbyists are desperate they try a method where you put them in a smaller tank and lower the water level to limit the fishes options, while he is in the quarantine tank I might try this as well. I'll also try to reduce the lights.
  13. Getting desperate now, the aro has not eaten in 4 weeks. I've tried pellets (5 types), shrimp both pink and raw, feeder fish, crickets, both shrimp again but soaked in Kents Garlic. Not sure what's going on but don't want to see him die, any other suggestions are welcome. I'm going to get some type of worm tomorrow and give that a whirl. The last couple of times when I go to feed and I fold the cricket/shrimp in the water the aro seems to swim in close proximity more and come close to it but never takes it.
  14. No luck. Wouldn't even look at them. Next attempt is going to be soaking shrimp in Kent's Garlic As of this sunday it will be a full 4 weeks since he ate last....
