  1. When I had them with my discus, they were even eating bloodworms no problem.
  2. and also, to keep u discus keeping for a while i would suggest u go out and buy a 55 gallon rain barrel and an airstone to age your water, 24 hr. minimum, instead of using a dechlorinator.
  3. u have 13 2" discus in a 50 gallons? with that amount, u should be doing at least 50% water changes everyday minimum depending on your feeding. they r under alot of stress. also, i would suggest u dont play around with water parameters, that also adds alot of stress.
  4. go to osmanauction.com i think they are having an auction very soon this month
  5. or how about option d, why didn't you just cut the glass and let someone else put it together for you :0
  6. stand is already built, it looked like it wasn't going to bow for about a month(checked on it every day), then about a month and half later it bowed about 1/4" so I put 1 1/4" metal tubing in as legs. Lucky i had these already made and painted just in case. I'm pretty sure my stand can support double of what it has on now(120 gallons). Thank god I'm a machinist and had the welder weld the legs for me in case.
  7. i think i know what you're talking about. my cousin has them in his discus tank, i told him not to worry about it, the discus will probably eat them up anyways. i don't think they cause any harm.

welcome to the forum. that 50 gallon is not going to be enough, soon a fishroom will only satisfy your addiction.
  9. i say add two panels on the sides
  10. sorry, wrong picture posted. updated picture now up.
  11. the center brace that I'm referring to is in the middle of the 6' length, vertically. And there will be a sheet of 3/4" plywood on the top and bottom, and all the weight is going to be loaded on 2x4's lying on their flat sides at the bottom. I put that center brace on top just in case in the future I will have to put smaller tanks on top. Are there any engineers roaming around?
  12. Hello folks, I was wondering if I needed a center brace for this stand that I'm building. It's a 6' long 22" wide and 32.5" high. It's just drawn out by hand and scanned. (Hope it doesn't cause you to go blind) [http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l28/syb65/04-22-2007095209PM.jpg
  13. i have 2 300 watt heaters in my 120 gallon, with that aluminum heat wrap on 3 sides with a 1" thick styrofoam sheet underneath. i see it kick on maybe for 10 minutes and won't see it on for a couple more hrs and it keeps it a constant 82, and still can get warmer up to 89 or so.
  14. those are some really nice pictures. did u take home the fishes in the first 2 pictures?
  15. the pigeon blood from a local breeder(neighbour), and the white at a store.
