A friend of mine sent me this link a few weeks past after I mentioned that I was considering t5s. http://Rapidled.com/ Considering that I haves multiple tank synndrome, t5s may be cheaoer in the short run. But this has given me some bad....err good ideas...

Ron, I've never used pool sand...but rinsed playsand (meaning previously rinsed, not rinse it yourself) isn't too shabby. It works very well in a rift lake tank. I have used it for plants but it needs to be mixed with something larger like laterite. It has been my experience that sand by itself is a poor choice for plants, it is mostly inert and has a tendency to compact.

Does anyone here know where I can find them in red deer? I don't really want to mail order just one. I'm gonna build a portable waste water barrel with an extra 25g drum I have. I'm tired of lugging around buckets.
