  1. I recently moved and upgraded my aquarium from a 120 to a 220 gal. I have everything I need to set it up. I however have messed up my back and could really use a hand in setting it up. I cant pay but I am a good friend and will reciprocate any way I can. If you have some extra time during the week or weekend let me know.

    Lfs T8's

You can get t8 LED lamps now. Its just a bulb that fits the regular connectors. good for 5 years and they come in 5k temptures.
  3. Mine just started doing this also. I found some small gravel in the bottom of the filtre right buy the impeller and cleaned them out then i opened the cleaning valve till the water ran clear. did a general cleaning and put everything together. turned it on and is running fine now.
  4. I really like the Aqueon light strips. I have a 48" with 3 day white lamps on my 120 tank and a 2 lamp t5 glo hood and the leds make the tank light up so much more than the glo t5 do. Also the moon lighting accents are great for night viewing. good choice if you ask me. I also bought mine from tanks a lot.
  5. DIY on a 120 gal tank is not a feasible option. You'd need like 10 2l bottles and the cost of sugar and yeast would become exorbitant after a few months. I'd invest in a 10 lbs bottle of co2 this will last you a year. I can get you one for 120$ or a 20lbs for the same price. look on ebay for your diffuser and a regulator. On the light front i would head down to gescan in the se and hit them up for some 56k bulbs. there about $3 a piece from them for a 48" so probably cheaper for your sizes. If your hoods are a t8 or t5 you can spend a little more and get some LED tubes that fit right in to the existing fixture. a little more up front buit you wont have to change the lamp for years.
  6. I have a 120 gal with an fx5 in it and also i have rummy nose and a few other small fish in it. the intake of the fx5 has never sucdked up any of my fishies. I did have some deaths and even then they just got stuck to the intake siphon.
  7. Pond snails will eat plants when the excess food runs out
  8. Pond snails are the worst. They will eat your plants explode in population and then die as the food disappears. the only way to get rid of them is with chemicals or speciality snails or some loaches will eat them. If you can get rid of them NOW! If you like snails get yourself a small batch of assassin snails they will leave your plants alone and eat the pond snails.
  9. Get your hands on a dremel and the glass buffer bit. Tape your time watch a video on YouTube. But if it's not a deep scratch that's whati do. You can have some one hold a vacuum over to sick away the dust.
  10. There are some leaves turning red on this cluster of plants. Is this a sign of the leaf dying or the plant turning red from iron. I just noticed my whiptail is in this pic. [/url This plant has a bunch of leafs that are dieing and only one new leaf. Should I trim the bad ones off and let the new one do all the work? If so where along the plant do i cut to get best results? Same here I think this plant is flowering. It has little blueish white buds forming.
  11. myriophyllum scabratum echinodorus schlueteri heteranthera zosterifolia anubias nana cryptocoryne wendtii DeWitt
