Do you think I should add some cycle stuff? or some thing to dirty up the water? (shrimp, food?) I feel like I should be feeding my tank something so the bacteria doesn't die? I am a chicken to, my brother who gifted me the tank and set up says to do it and he has a 180 sw tank. I will wait till monday for sure, and longer if anything changes in my numbers, but any opionions on "feeding" the tank?

SO, I started a 30 gallon tank 5 days ago, I used rock 1/2 rock from an already established tank and bought a few more live rock pieces from the LFS as well as live sand, I also used about 30% water from the old tank. I have been testing multiple times a day and have 0 for nitrates and nitrites, PH is good and saline is good, I can see feather dusters and the mushrooms looking happy, I can even see bristle stars "sweeping". I didn't add anything to cycle it, do you think I need to? I was thinking of adding 2 clowns tomorrow? too soon? Thanks for the opinions!

So, as I was doing a reg water change on one of my 20 g I look in the old water and it is full of TINY I mean TINY little swimming things, I am assuming they are Danio's because everything else except my Panda Cory's are either single or have live babies. they are SOOO tiny I used a cup, because the net was not fine enough and spent an hour "saving" as many as I could so I would not throw the babes down the drain (don't throw the baby out with the bath water...) and then today one of my guppies had 10 fry, very glad it was such a small drop! moved my 6 danios to another tank so I could give some of these babies a little more chance (yeah right!) wondering how fast Danio's grow? judging by the 2 dollar price tag on them I guess they should probably breed pretty readily, just my first time.

HI from Edmonton, just getting started, currently have 2 20g with some community fish (danios, cory's, guppies, molly, platy's and fry from the Danios and the guppies) planning a 90 gallon planted tank with drift wood and then some angels in the next month or so. Glad to find this forum!
