  1. I'm so jealous of the hobbyists living in Calgary, as regards their water, compared to the water here in Edmonton, (with Chloramine). I really HATE the idea of adding a chemical to the water, to get rid of a chemical in the water........ I remember the days when you just filled pails and let them sit overnight, and by morning you could use the water......but now I'm showing my age......LOL..........that belongs back in the days before submersible heaters, with incandescent light bulbs and chrome canopies, corner box filters with glass wool and charcoal, and 1 cory catfish per tank, (to clean up after everybody else !), .......who knew they lived in schools !!!............... OMG,...........now I feel ancient !.................LMAO
  2. Thanx for the welcome,................ I keep telling myself I have other priorities too, and other interests, ..................but everytime I see a great deal on a newer tank, ...........or walk into a LFS, (just to have a look), my resolve goes out the window !!! Don't want to do the "fish room" thing, so at the moment my desires are curtailed by the electrical limitations of the areas I want tanks in,............however, I do intend to call an electrician in the new year...............LMAO
  3. Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to the hobby, and have been "stalking" this site for a while, working up the nerve to post....... Like Percilus, I too have developed MTS, due to Kijiji and cheap aquariums. I only have 6 so far, a 75G, 30G(x2), 20G(x2), 10G. At present, 3 are up and running. 30G: Ember tetras, Neon tetras, Rummynoses, Otocinclus, Corydoras Rabauti, C. reticulatus, C. pygmaeus 20G: Basically a growing out tank for plants, but with White Clouds, (Cause I like 'em) 20G: Red Cherry Shrimp, Corydoras habrosus There's more fish species I want to try, Bettas, Threadfin Rainbows, more Corys !, Boraras........OMG, so many fish, so few tanks !!! I'm a member of A.C.E., and have learned so much from just listening to other members, so hope to do the same with this site.......I'll try not to pester with TOO many questions......about plants, shrimp, decor, substrate, breeding..........(Uh oh !)
