  1. Large tanks have more options on stocking but require more time for maintenance. And added costs of bigger equipment costs and much larger months costs. I know first hand as I got an 180 150 135 125 90 gallon tanks and another 4 20-30 gallon quarantine tanks. Love the look of your planted tank...not sure I be brave enough to use soil I dug up. Fish are too costly to replace.
  2. Good read!! About time they put a stop to ruining waterways

    Glass Lids

Retrofitting my 90 gallon bowfront into a dart frog paradise. Looking to get glass lids made for it. Took off bottom brace temporary to take into glass shop to get "tight" fitting glass cut. My quest is how thick should I go. Few consideration to think about. 1. Tank is 48" long with a center brace with a curve due to being a bowfront 2. We have a fat cat that love to jump on things cat is around 15-20lbs. 3. Have t5ho lights to sit on glass on short stands. Thinking 4,5, or 6mm glass.
  4. Lots of rocks. Stacked to make caves. More hiding spots given ...the more you will see of the fish, that's how my mbuna is. Mbuna tanks tend to need a bit of an over stocking to spread out aggression to more fish. Just need to up filtration to accomplish this. Could add a 3rd species I would think.. albino scoffoli are a very nice white fish looks great with electric yellows. Just my opinion but you will love mbuna.
  5. Drilling all done... first hole very scared to do but worked out great. 3 holes drilled with no issues at all. Thanks for all tips. My froggies will be very happy with a waterfall feature. Completely hidden thanks to bulk heads.
  6. Overfeeding? Under feeding? Causing territory stress battles? WC schedule change when you away? Grasping I know but it has too be something that you do by habit and maybe girlfriend doesn't. Try setting up premade portions of food to feed this tank. I had to do this or my gf would do major overfeeding. Weird only this tank also... something simple I'd guess.
  7. never thought of J&L. prices are decent so ordered what i needed ...and more... easy $40 order balloons fast into $100+ if you allow it too decent shipping prices also. will order again from here when i NEED too
  8. looking to drill my 90 gal bowfront looking for bulkheads and diamond hole saws. looking for best price for them. need 1.25" hole saw bit for the 1/2" bulkhead thinking big box stores for hole saw but bulkheads are eluding me any help would help
  9. Ok fair enough thought I saw 20%. So all good
  10. I was under the impression there was a 20% off the top for the club which is understandable to help maintain the club. So once I got home re-added my sales from my stuff got total of $348. And got paid out $236. According to my math that 32.5% off the top. If suppose to be only 20% I was shorted around $40.
  11. Edmonton auction tomorrow. Always few batches for sale. I got 6 or so in my 180 and empty shells everywhere. Help that got couple Yoyos in there also. I'm sure yoyo keep my assassin in check as well. But always see few assassin in tank.
  12. Membership dues? Guess I didn't update my membership last year. Looking to sell some stuff this Sunday. Possible to renew Sunday and still sell some goodies?
  13. Definitely need some WATER!! I read somewhere water is definitely required For plants. Opinions will very on depth of substrate and type of substrate. Lots of plant gurus on here. Fish will vary on what you like and size of tank. MTS will hit at some point ..you have been warned. I started with a 36 gallon bow...now got around 1000gallons of water in 9 tanks.
