  1. The right size of Bichir verse piranha would work Done it before. And my two ten inch ornates far from monsters yet but kept well fed leave everyone alone they housed with. What size is this tank ?
  2. Red hooks all over Calgary in difference sizes if your down here sometime
  3. Bichirs on the bottom will clean up the good and are tough
  4. How big is this piranha ? Is this 55 g the 12 inch wide dimensions ? Mixing predators is always a gamble but part of the fun. Try something a bit larger than the piranha but no guarantee.
  5. Cause these fish aren't in alberta
  6. I 200% agree Devon! But just like everything some folks have to wreak it for the rest of us responsible and ethical hobbyists.
  7. The only one thats giving the channa a bad name is the giant snakehead. Which is not beautiful and know-one really should have any business keeping them in my opinion. And is why you can get them for $20 at fish shops. Bleheri and Aurantimaculata are perfect sizes to manage in an aquarium and are beautiful channa species, smart and true survivors. And anyone for that matter putting a non native species into any watershed shouldn't be allowed to keep fish. Its not just channa. ( Chain Pickerel) those smaller pike looking devils are causing issues I know in Nova Scotia with the bass and trout species. Not sure how they got in those waters but their being very invasive over the last few decades. At the end of the day its not the fish at all its a select few ignorant people giving them and other fish a bad name.
  8. Sweet. You going to get some?
  9. A little fish shop on 32nd Ave NE Calgary called Franco's. 50 each and they had maybe 4 left. 3-4 inch now. Dwarf channa species topping out around 6-8inch
  10. Thanks. Yeah I have my eye on a few now. Lots of awesome choices to buy fish in this town! Spoiled compared to Halifax we always had to do group orders to get in rare fish. Here most are stocked Cheers
  11. Howdy folks finally back in the mix! Heater is on and GPH a flowing!
