  1. The female and some of the corys are rolling, the levamisole won't be here till the end of the week I kept fish since the 90s, but never encountered worms in my fish, so this is new to me. But I will definitely be setting up a bare bottom QT tank in the basement and everyone is getting treated for worms from now on. And staying in QT for at least 6 weeks. Trying to get parasites out of a heavily planted tank is a nightmare
  2. Thank you very much. It happens, and I euthanized him so that he didn't suffer. I used clove oil, and he went quick, just fell asleep and passed. I know it's just a fish, but I really baby them, and I take it personally when I can't save them. Thankfully my Kribensis tank is unaffected but I'm going to feed them levamisole food just to be sure I didn't cross contaminate them. This was a big learning experience for me.
  3. A guy from Three Hills sells them, I seen them on Kijiji. They look nice!
  4. He gone. My favourite fish went to a better place. I decided to euthanize him, he was just suffering way too much. And he probably wouldn't have come back from the infestation anyway. Sad day. I'm crying over a tiny German Blue Ram.
  5. Oh crap it won't be here till Thursday. Ugh I'll probably lose my favourite fish. They joys of fish keeping
  6. Hello! A few months ago I was a planted tank Newbie. This forum definately pointed me in all the right directions. I found my drift wood on Amazon.ca. I really like the Malaysian drift wood and have great success with it in my planted tanks. I tried to get a finnex, but they wouldn't ship to Canada. I ended up getting a quad T5HO from AquaTraders. It's been good for far. I did run CO2 for a while and my plants went bezzerk! ( I did up a DIY jobbie) love it. I do use EXCEL now and I do have Eco Complete substrate. I have a HOT filter that I really love and seems to do the trick. My tank is very slightly stocked (which is a good thing because I am going thru a worm issue with my wild caught ram) What's worked for me so far is I have been sticking to the easy to medium requirement plants (since I don't have real CO2) and watching what grows and what doesn't. My swords are growing nuts in my krib tank under an LED from Aqueon. Good luck and have fun. I almost am loving plants more then the fish
  7. You are a saint! Thank you, thank you! I found some on the website and am priority posting so I have it Monday. I hope my fish live that long!
  8. If anyone has any I could buy please contact me. I am coming up to the city tomorrow. It's impossible to find and I want to save my pair of German blue Rams 😩
  9. Where did you get some? I am in desperate need of some and am coming up to the city tomorrow. I live in Camrose. These worms are going to be the end of me! I can't get my hands on the medicine that rats them!
  10. I bought a pair of German blue Rams from Aquarium Illusions about 2 1/2 months ago. The female died within 2 days, so my glorious little male has just been hanging out with the corys and neons (who were in the tank for ages before the Rams) for a few months. I bought another female and QT her for almost a month. She looked good so in she went with the male a few days ago. They hit it off immediately. I was so happy to see them doing the shaking and posturing, cleaning off a flat spot on some driftwood. This morning I woke up to the male has camallanus worms sticking out of his butt. I didn't see them before today. He obviously came with them, as everything I read says they take 6-12 weeks to show. Everyone else in the tank is fine...for now. Give it a month... So where the bloody Hell do I find the meds to kill them? Big Als said PraziPro, but I don't read anything that says it works. And the stuff that is suppose to work is impossible to find. I can see why people give up on fish. He's my absolute favorite fish and I want to save him. But beings as I can't find anything to treat them, I think im doomed?

  12. A lady I know has plecos that spawned. She said the parents are about 5 inches long. These guys are only about 3/4 inch long and I have 2 in my planted nursery tank. I didn't want to throw them in my 46 gallon that has my three 6 inch fancy goldfish, I wanted them to grow a bit. So far they aren't eating the plants (it's okay if they do, I have it planted just for cover for my fry) I have only ever had the huge common plecos before, and would love it if these were the ones that stay small and don't eat plants. Are these seam bristle nose? Thanks Pleco-people!!!
  13. The tank is planted and is growing crazy. I even made a diy co2 reactor just to try out co2. My plants went bezzerk. I'm taking inches worth of growth in days. It finished the dreaded diatom stage a few weeks ago and now my tank is actually starting to look pretty amazing. Can't wait for the Amazon swords to take off. And I didn't worry about getting all the snails off my plants. Gives the assassins something to eat
