  1. I'm confused as to how Pisces is a big box pet store. Are they not still locally owned and operated?
  2. Have you had any luck breeding the Paracyprochromis nigripinnus?
  3. Any Black Calvus?? Blacker the better. Looking for whites as well.
  4. Even hermit crabs you will come to hate as they kill your snails for their shells. I had good luck with the scarlet hermits and is what I will stick with in my new tank. To be honest I don't think you need hermits at all inight a mature system. The cope pods, Bristol worms, stomatella snails and small brittle stars will do the same job.
  5. You realize this thread is a year old right. You will also find those Red Sea prism skimmers are good paper weights but not good protein skimmers.
  6. I run an MP10w on my 20 and it's fine. Different type of water movement though I guess.
  7. Forget the Mandarin. You don't have nearly the rock to support one. Unless you can find an ORA captive bred one feeding on pellets I wouldn't even try. The starfish probably isn't a good idea either Asterina are a coral eater, especially zoas. For more rock you can contact Eli at Fiji rock in Calgary. Check out canreef for his contact info he sells dry rock, not this DIY fake skeleton stuff. You need to look for rock with lots of holes and very porus rock. When you pick it up it should be considerably lighter than what you think it should be. The secret to a successful long term reef aquarium is the live rock and skimmers those are 2 areas you do not want to cheap out on. Saltwater and fresh water are 2 totally different types of aquariums and need to be cared for completely different. Also the pistol shrimp your wanting will kill and eat your snails and hermits.
  8. Anyone working or breeding the Electric Blue or Koi Rams in Canada? Anyone seen any for sale? I have kept these in the past when the Electric Blues were new but was recently shown the Kois and they are even better.
  9. What do you guys this? I bought this fish about a month ago from a private keeper here in Lethbridge, he bought it from Alberta Discus as a Super Red Checker. However looking at pictures of other Super Red Checker this guy doesnt have nearly as busy of a pattern as them. He is about 4.5" long maybe 5 but havent put him on a ruler. I had ID threads with a passion, however I am looking to find a female for him of the same color & pattern. I would like to know what I have.
  10. There was a fluval 90 with stand for sale on FB in a lethbridge aquarium group for $150 or $200.
  11. Been dealing with them for years, cant say enough good things about them. They did a 400 for a friend in Lethbridge. Awesome tank!
  12. Is this a once a year thing or do they happen multiple times a year?
