  1. well ill try to upload the rest later as i keep getting errors, i did lower the file sizes as the pictures where taken in 4k.
  2. this is the first setup for the 45 gallon
  3. sorry i never came back with an update, I'm happy to say that i fixed the problem. i don't remember what the problem was, but the fish are doing really well they have been moved from the 45 gallon to their new home, a 38 gallon. ps i dont know how to mark this as solved, and thanks again for helping.
  4. Thanks for the reply, I didn't even think of oxygen being the problem. I will a another line to the tank. If I recall right I didn't start having problems till I moved around some air lines. and nope didnt add any new fish, decorations or plants real or fake, I haven't even add fertilizers in a while. I'm still trying to find the right balance(new to real plants in the tank) I will post results of my water parameters after work. And any updates on the guppies. Thanks again,
  5. We'll I have some bad news with this update. 2 of the 3 are dead with a forth now starting to sit at the bottom, but he looks like he was nibbled on, so he might be unrelated to the problem. water quality still showing perfect ( still test strips , liquid test kit should be in tomorrow)
  6. Hello everyone, thanks for the help in advance. i have a 45 gallon planted tank with 30 gallon sump with a diy wet/dry tower been up and running for almost a year with little to no problems. the water quality parameters is 0 a cross the bored for ammonia nitrate nitrite and at work at the moment so I don't remember the others. Tank temps normally at 24-25c. And I used test strips, master kit on order. the tank started with 20 guppies after it was cycled for about a month and a half (fishless cycle) lost two males to my own stupidity ( got caught in the drain net , now fixed) one female to anal prolapse over breeding now to the problem I have two maybe 3 that are sitting on the bottom and decorations, having a hard time swimming (male and female so I don't think it's birthing problems ) I know the tanks border line over stocked from the breeding, I do about 40-50%water change weekly. ive started to raise the temp slowly and going to stop at the store for a tray to put the sick guys/ gal in so they are now stuck so far down and have a better chance of eating. Do you guys/ gals have any idears of what could be happening ? I probably left out info so just ask if I did. Oh the sick guppies have no signs of infection bacterial or fungual, no odd behaviour other than sitting and labour breathing, ones starting to lose Color thanks again hope we cN save them .
  7. 4 tanks for now , It wasn't just faulty equipment, life too. Thanks for the suggestions, I've been testing all my equipment this past few weeks, everything checks out good so far.

    Hello

Posted July 31, 2017 Hello all, I'm a returning hobbest that's bin in and out over the years. I'm from Edmonton, thanks for letting me join the AA, I think I have a problem, lol. I have 2 10g tanks, 1 45gallon (working on setting up now) and a 55g ish tank. ( remember the tanks at pj pet store, when I worked for petamart they bot out pj store and I got one of the tanks, the one with the bow front.) I never keeper fish for long as I always had problems with filters and pumps, heaters crapping out, we'll I'm gonna give it another go, I'm setting up my 45, I've built a new stand and wet/dry. ( pics to come) gonna try my first planted tank ps if I left out anything you would like to know, just ask 2019 Happy new year everyone, i am back again. life has been really busy, but i am happy to say i did setup the 45 gallon with a diy 30 gallon sump. I ended up doing guppies this time around, and started with about 20, i now have around 100 (guessing hard to count with them swimming around). They have been move to a new tank, a 38 gallon and are doing really well, its a bit of a mess as i have moved all the tanks to the basement and am still working on cleaning everything up. I'm in the process of setting up the 45 again but with a new look, and I'm leaning towards doing some gold fish maybe some Telescope or Fancy Fantail or Shubunkin or Ryukin or maybe a combination ( if possible, still doing home work. i want to do things right and not rush things like i have in the past) and i plan to set up a 10 gallon for a half moon betta I've never uploaded pics here im hoping they order in oldes to newest so it should be : old 45 setup, new set up, 38 gallon. mmm its not letting me so ill post them as reply's
