While trying to photograph him he stopped to pick at a rock

Soon as some others seen him they raced over

Wow! Those are cool. Great pick up! What size tank are they in and how many in the group?

I just moved them into a 125 yesterday I think I rounded up 13 altogether 3-4 males 9-10 females

Cool, never heard of them before.

They behave a lot like very active mbunas always on the move, They beg for food kinda like dolphins bobbing in and out of the water at the surface

Anyhow these fish have been breeding for a couple months now but I thought the females were not holding their eggs --now that they are in a bigger tank and a little easier to observe, I spotted one holding a few days ago

So decided to strip her today

Was surprised to get only 4 eggs I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the 1/2 inch ruby red peacock that she was also holding ( I had thrown in a couple dozen a few days ago for the nkambaes to eat)--I guess I'll find out on the next spawn --The eggs are quite large similar to Tropheus eggs
