bosshog Posted July 22, 2008 Report Share Posted July 22, 2008 I used three two litre jugs in a 5 gal pail. Put a CFL plant grow light over top and bubble for about 14 days. I use new water, and started my cultures with DT's, I use miracle grow for fertilizer, the stuff with the lowest middle number I could find. Less phosphate, less chance of phos build up in the tank. \ What did you use for a starter culture. I've shut my system down for the summer and would like to start it up again when time permits in the fall. I'd like to get a few different species of plankton.
