Length of quarantine

I was wondering what the average time is that people keep their fish in quarantine after treating them for parasites, etc.

I quarentine all new fish for atleast 3 weeks, whether I treat them as a preventative or not.

If the fish get sick during this time, the 3 weeks starts again after the illness has been treated. I dont' want any sick fish transfering anything to my tanks just because I was impatient.

wow! I guess I really under do it. I go for a week new or after treating and they look good.

4 weeks, no less. If any fish show signs of disease then the tank gets treated and, as degrassi stated, the 4 week period starts over once the fish look healthy again.

Thats exactly what I do sometimes 5 weeks after looking healthy better to be safe than sorry. Well either that or I'm just anal :rofl:

To be honest, I QT all new fish I get except those that come from Gold's. I have never had a single issue with any of their fish yet. But I finally have some spare tanks kicking around that I have to avoid at all costs in not turning them into anything lol.
