Fishful Thinking
Well, I ordered in six `Lamprologus` ocellatus (Gold) and six Julidochromis regani (Kipili). I just sit and watch the tank, especially the shell dwellers. What an interesting species to keep. These are in the process of either being grown out for my 360 gallon or maybe just to keep as is. Here is the start of a new journal thread! Tank: 25 gallon tall Filtration: Aquaclear 70 Substrate: black sand Decor: one silk plant, one plastic plant, slate caves and shells Some pics of the inhabitants. Apologies for the quality but I did these really quickly. I'll get a full tank shot later.
Iceturf
The blue edged fish is rather interesting; do its colors shine under the tank lights?
Fishful Thinking
Thanks. The reganis show the blue edges, but not to the same extent. I think with better lighting it would show up more.
Fishful Thinking
This tank is now a low heat community tank. 12 long-finned white cloud minnows and 4 panda cories have made it home and some of my plants migrated into it too. Lighting is a Hagen glo.
Fishful Thinking
One of the things I love about having the planted tank is that my other tanks are becoming planted with the excess growth! This tank now is home to Lilaeopsis mauritiana and a ton of Rotala rotundifolia. Pictures will be coming.

jvision
I know what you mean about all tanks beign planted. I started my first planted tank about 16yrs ago, and have never had a tank w/o plants since!
Fishful Thinking
I can see the appeal. It's nice because it is such a sustainable activity. I grow them in the planted tank with the extra lights and the CO2 and then move them to the other less-technological tanks.

Fishful Thinking
They moved to a different tank. I don't have them any more, though.
