loki
i have a 4"-5" black piranha and would like to create his natural enviroment as best as possible, so i have heard that using peat in my filter would be great for the ph and for my piranha. so my question is....has anyone used this and how much did it lower the ph? williewonka
I've used Keta-Peat Nuggets with my reds, but I was using for the blackwater more to induce them to breed. I'm not sure that it really done much other than darken the water as I never bothered to check ph levels.
Piranha Man
i have a 4"-5" black piranha and would like to create his natural enviroment as best as possible, so i have heard that using peat in my filter would be great for the ph and for my piranha. so my question is....has anyone used this and how much did it lower the ph? Cool stuff... we got a rhom owner here! Woohoo! It will only lower the ph in reverse osmosis water. Our water is too stable in the cities. I wouldn't worry about it anyway. They thrive on darker substrate and full floating plant coverage if it's possible. Temp betwwen 80-84. And rhom's that size, feed small amounts daily. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me. I've been keeping a variety of p's off and on since the 80's. My rhom is 15".
