gdcox76
I have 5 Mascara Barbs (Puntius filamentosus) that I got at the Calgary Auction biggest is about 3 inches smallest 2 inches. Up until today they have all been a lovely iridescent silver with a bit of pink undertone, and completely content to just school peacfully. Today I have 2 that have taken on a very definite red hue and are chasing each other around like crazy, the rest are all still unchanged in color. They lip lock and do a little chase of each others tails around and around and then separate. Then turn around and start the whole thing over again. do I need to separate them or are they just doing what comes "naturally"....lol. Wingin' It
Sounds like you've got a couple of males trying to assert themselves...if you leave them alone, they'll figure it out amongst themselves...one will become Alpha and rule the roost.
