jvision
It may be a Blue-gene Jack Dempsey... which might be why they labeled it as electric blue johanni. Blue-gene Jack Dempsey's carry the gene to create electric blue JDs.
fatpuffer
There is not way to tell whether or not it would be a blue gene. only breeding with an ebjd or another bgjd will guarantee that. its probably just another mislabeled cichlid. rayfong
There are times that a LFS will order a certain fish and get something else instead or there may be a contaminant in with the bag of fish that they ordered. Sometimes they may be switching tanks around and haven't gotten around to changing the labels as well. If you still have your receipt you can always call the LFS and see if they will exchange the JD for a johanni.
