Baos
A while ago I was thinking about the cost of drift wood and how nice it would be to just have a tree growing in the tank. Almond leaves being very popular I wondered how having an actual living almond tree in with 40 clown loaches would effect the aquarium.
Hippoherder
Is that an archer fish? Very cool. How did you start the seed?
Sierra
Again very cool. Whoa it really took off, how old is it? Do you notice any differences to your water?
aquabrain
That's a really neat idea! I've heard of people growing mangroves in the tank, but never almonds. I'm also very interested in what the water parameters are like in your tank. Are the nitrates/nitrites super low? Don't the roots rot and clog the filter intake? Love the archerfish! Baos
Roots don't rot at all. Have not tested nitrates in some time, the water evaporates and I do a change. temp is around 80F. Yes it is an Archer with the clowns. I started the seed in mud pretty much. constantly flowing water through the mud.
