Chatty_Platy
I was recently given a pair of Honey Gourami's for my fresh water tank and I was wondering what is the trick to breeding them? I am failry sure one is a male and one is a female because of the colour indications I have been told about. I saw a hint of a bubble nest in a corner in my community tank but ti dissapeared now. Tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Wingin' It
lower the water, feed live food...add some snails for infusoria. add a styrofoam cup cut in half so they can build a bubble nest in that...actually, do exactly what you would do for breeding Bettas. They spawn the same.
SuperGuppyGirl
For general sexing of gourami's is to look at their dorsal fin, distinct point =male, rounded off= female (not sure if their are species specific ones)
polleni-puffer
For honey Gouramis sexing is by color ,the fin difference between the sexs is minute. Males=red ,females=brown. As said ,breeding is like bettas.
