Ozscot
Anyone have any ideas on how to remove acrylic paint from an acrylic aquarium? Someone suggested scraping with a razor blade, but think that may leave scratches
cainechow
You could try a plastic scraper. A razor would definitely scratch. If you get scuff marks from the plastic scraper they can be buffed out using a rag and old school toothpaste; not the gel type, the kind that is opaque. Jayba
If my thinking is correct. Place it in water the paint will turn to goo, then rub it iff. If the tank is too big to drop in the bathtub lay it painted side up, electrical tape around the vertical edge to make a dam and fill with water, wait, rinse and repeat. cainechow
Depends on the type of acrylic paint. But that sometimes works too. Good call Jayba
Ozscot
It worked. Soaked it in the bath for a few hours and hit it with a plastic putty knife. Put it back in a couple of times to get the stubborn stuff off. Thanks, didnt want to risk any of the chemicals hardware stores suggested.
