cvierboom
Please help me ID this cichlid. I have had it for about a year and it is approx 5 inches long. Thank you,
lemonaidjay
I am thinking he is a Metriaclima estherae (Red) http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1730
jvision
It's a peacock of some sort. Go to that same site that LemonaidJay recommended and look at the various Aulonocara spp
cvierboom
The closest I can find is a Gold Peacock hybrid
khobbs
I don't think its sunburst the color is similar but seems to be missing the white crestline. I would definitely say that its a close guess though. I would start by looking at species closely related to sunbursts I like this site. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/ The gold hybrid looks similar but i wouldnt say for sure that is it. If you look there they have several species listed with behaviours/info/pics Edited October 28, 2013 by khobbs
khobbs
Personally it looks like it could be a hybrid to me. Probably sunburst or dragon blood crossed with something else. Lol tough to say cause aside from color there doesnt seem to be any distinguishing trates or markings on him
