Knowzilla
I was wondering if any other types of rock (tufa or lava) along with actual live rock could be used in a new tank during cycling?

Knowzilla
Can I get pukani, at any of the stores in Edmonton, or do I have to order it? Also what are some good places to buy saltwater stuff in Edmonton that have really good pricing and are not going to break the bank?
ckmullin
seems lots of people have wanted to start a new sw tank recently. I typically tell people to go and look @ canreef.com. You can pickup live/dead rock cheap.
jvision
Try ecoLiveRock - supposedly just as good as normal LR, and doesn't tax the Ocean ecosystem.

When it comes to saltwater the initial start-up just might break the bank. My first SW tank was a 20 gallon and tipped the scales at $500.
