Hey Guys and Welcome!!!

Well I decided to move all my tank journals on to one central location. I will now just post updates of all my tanks on this one location.

As you guys might of seen my other posts I have a 30 Gallon Long, a 10 gallon RCS and a 10 Gallon ADA iwagumi. If you are interested in the starting processes of these tanks they are posted in my other tank journals. Check it out !!!

My 30 Gallon long is doing very well. The HC carpet is completely full now. I just recently did a trimming so the HC and the flame moss doesn't look too hot. If you are interested in purchasing some HC give me a PM. Each time I do a trimming I get a ridiculous amount of HC. This tank has been running for about 8 months now.

Check out my video:

This is my 10 Gallon ADA tank. As you might notice I have changed the scape on it. I was getting tired of my old scape and decided to give something new a try. I am hoping to retire my RCS tank and put all my shrimps in here. This tank has been running for close to 6 months now.

Here is a video of my RCS tank.

In the past 3 months I have also started a small 5 gallon nano scape with microswords, anubias and rotella. It's a super low tech tank just for fun.

But recently I have been super excited to start a new project! Something I have always I wanted to try but never got the chance. My latest project is a Nano Reef tank.

This is a 10 gallon Long tank. As you guys might of guess by now I love LONG tanks. I think they are so fun to scape and you can do so much with it.
Like all my other tanks I build a plywood/ 2x4 stand for the tank. If you are interested in building your own stand give me a PM.

Here goes nothing.......

Since this is my first time venturing in to the salt water world I did not want to go all out. So I decided to start a nano. YES!! I know..nano tanks are way harder and nano are not for beginners. But Thanks to all the tips my friend Meeiu "another member on AA" has given me I have the confidence to succeed in a nano SW tank. Go check out Meeiu's nano reef tank it's amazing.

My budget is something under $550 before fish and corals.
Here it is:

$30 Tank- 3 side Starphire 28" x 10" x 9" from a good friend

$15 Instant Ocean Sea Salt
$28 Hydor Koralia 425 GPH
$25 Jager 50 watt Heater
$27 Carbsea Ocean Direct Oolite live sand 20lbs
$45 Vertex Salinity Refractometer

$60 Live rocks 18lbs
$165 Current Orbit Marine LED Light Fixture 24 - 36 Inches

$135 Aquasafe RODI filter and TDS meter

---------------------------------------------------------------

$530 Total

I am super impressed with the LEDs. At first I was a little worried that they are not strong enough but with such a shallow tank I am getting close to 100 pars at the bottom of my tank.
Furthermore, the built in controller is AWESOME. I have full control of my LEDS. Some great features included are 24 hours on off time tamp up and dim down, adjustable moon light, and just for fun weather effects i.e. thunderstorm and cloud cover. AND the fixture looks great !

On a side note I would highly recommend the RODI I have purchased. It's from Aquasafe. Don't waste you time with the Ebay ones. For $135 bucks I got a 7 stage RODI filter shipped to me and it came with a free TDS meter. Since I have only used the system for about 1 week I can not comment on the longevity of the system. But from what I can see it's solid. The materials used are top quality, easy assembly and NO LEAKS. After testing the system I am truly getting 0 TDS in my water afterwards. Water that came out from my tap was measured at 280 TDS and after the filter it was at zero.

On Friday night my good friend Benson and I put together the tank.
In the tank there is 18LBS of live rocks picked up from Kijiji. One of the rocks came with 3 Fuzzy Mushrooms.

Here is what it looks like.

Plans for the future. Bubble tip anemone, 2 clowns, Shrimp. And more corals of course.
