Deano85
Wont it get pretty cold? I mean the furnace is gas fed but you still need electricity for the blower motor and thermostat.

nancyr
could you rent a generator from Home Depot to power everything? otherwise could you put your fish in plastic or shipping containers, and i am sure amongst a bunch of us we could keep everything going for you, would that work, I live in the NW and could help out that way. Jayba
Stop feeding them two days out. Water change the night before, and crank the furnace up to 80. Get battery operated air pumps for tanks that are overstocked. Should be fine for 7 hours.
patcamaro
Thank you , looks like my best option
nancyr
I just watched this really informative video on u-tube that would certainly work for a lot of us in the event of a power outage with minimal cash outlay called: HOW TO SURVIVE A POWER OUTAGE by The King of DIY. It more or less covers everything above, with interesting advice on how to heat or cool your tanks. the one problem I can see right off is that i notice you have 50 tanks as you need a battery powered air pump for each tank but maybe at least there is something from the video you can salvage.
