flyingfish
Hello, I'm new in Alberta and I'm wondering if there is a place where I can get aquarium plants besides a pet store?
Jaykit
There is always something on Kijiji for sale or trade. Often people post here on the forum too about giving away plants or clippings for free.
fishclubgirl
I have lots of plants and do have parents in didsbury...
AngelFins
If you do not find anything locally, check our website: angelfins.ca. We just received a big shipment of plants. Below are a few photos of some of them.

Frogfish
Olds college should incorporate aquascaping or aquaponics in their horticulture program. Aquatic plant keeping blends a lot of different courses knowledge and skills together. AA is definitely the right place to ask, if you're willing to make the drive I would gladly part with some trimmings.

joeysgreen
Does anyone recall those cell culture plants that PJ's used to sell in deli cups? The company was based out of BC. Barring local sharing, this is where I"d recommend buying plants because you are only getting what you are buying. Ian
Kirinashi
Ian, those are the aquaflora tubs. AngelFins.ca has those.

Slava
Picses Pet Emporium in Calgary now carry Tropica's 1-2-Grow! plants. They are tiny but algae-free and the selection is good. I recently purchased Lilaeopsis brasiliensis and Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini' and had no die-off. Obviously, keep an eye on the SWAP section on this forum and you can get lot's for free
Shambhalove_
Theplantguy.com Yup, he's great. Ordered almost everything from him over time, buy tissue cultured if you can. Better question is what are you looking for? Could always set up some meets in calgary here and get a bunch of free stuff.
