FunkSolid
I saw these guys @ Big Als and their phenotype made me say "WOW!". Then I saw the price and I said "$H!T". The dude at Big Als told me "There is one place in Thailand that breeds these and thats why they are so expensive". I have used the search function and The Google on these guys, and people are mostly saying that due to the genetic abnormality of this phenotype, and the horrific inbreeding to achieve it, their immune systems reflect their terrible gene pool. Most of those threads are a few years old (some are 7+ years old) does anyone know if that reality still exists? Thanks :-)
fatpuffer
I bred these guys years ago. Do you hav specific questions? I think the post are still up.
fatpuffer
They are expensive because it takes time to get blue gene jds. It took me 2 years to get fry.
felixc
I am thinking of getting 6 young ones from LFS and raising them up in community 90g, is there any advise you can provide in terms of behavior and compatibility with other African cichlids. No intention to breed but I like to keep one or two pairs as adult display fish. Any advise on sexing without venting them?
fatpuffer
I'm not good at sexing them. Just wait and let them pair up naturally. I am not familiar w Africans but don't usually like mixing African and American cichlid. Not much help here.
