Driftwood in Edmonton area

Anyone know where I can find decently sized driftwood in the Edmonton area? looking for larger pieces with flat surface areas to use as a basking platform for turtles. So stuff like hollowed log pieces and not the fancy branchy stuff.

I haven't seen anything like that for driftwood in local aquarium shops. Landscaping stores have large pieces of wood, tree trunks etc. We had one in the backyard, above water, for a decade without rotting but I don't know how it would fare submerged. The river valley may be another location to find well-weathered wood.

I think some pieces of malaysian driftwood might work for you, just have to look for the right piece, I have this one that might work. Otherwise looking at something like cork bark or cork rounds might be better for flatter pieces. Photo%202017-04-09%207%2058%2028%20PM_zp
