New and addicted, suffering from MTS. :D

Hi all!  I have always loved aquariums but knew nothing about their care.  In the summer of 2017 I decided to see if there were any axolotls available for rehoming, and behold, there was a lady rehoming her 3 along with her 55-gallon tank and setup.  I was thus forced to learn about aquariums in a real hurry, and learn I did.  I now currently have 5 of them, 4 with axolotls and 1 with a pleco that came with the axolotls (NOT a good pairing, those two do not belong in tank together), which is a temporary home for him as I'm planning to set up a larger tank for him.  Currently residing with him are also cherry shrimp, neon tetras, rabbit snails, and some gold inca snails that hitched a ride on some plants from a fish store, despite my best efforts at cleaning them.

I've become utterly fascinated by the world of aquatics and even drove through the nasty blizzard on Saturday to attend our first Aquaticon. I am really enjoying learning so many interesting things and making connections with other enthusiasts.

If you think you have MTS now, wait until some of your favorite fish have babies.....lol

At one point in time I had 13 tanks. Now I am down to 7 running (4 empty in basement) with the largest being a 150 Gallon. I did downsize in number of tanks but increased my livestock.....lol Tricking my mind into thinking it's not as bad as it is perhaps??lol

Snails are actually one of natures best housekeepers. If your snails keep reproducing it is because there is enough left over organic waste/food to support them. They will die off on their own as the food source is depleted. Unless of course your tank gets over fed or has very messy inhabitants.

I myself like to see the numbers increase and decrease because this shows me that they are doing their job.,
