Here is FishBrain's old Gachua, doing well so far, little roughed up from the first day of territories but he's doing much better now...

Little video update of the 44gal as of 2 days ago, has settled down temperment wise more since the video thankfully.

(UPLOADING RIGHT NOW, WILL POST LINK WHEN DONE)

  2. Well got FishBrain's gachua into my tank now, added some enw driftwood to mix up the territories agian.

There was a little skuffle at the beginning, The original Gachua was picking on the Albino, the Albino was picking on the new one, then he snapped around at the original and the new guy is now just chillin behind his driftwood. They've finally settled down after an hour or 2.

Will take some pics later tonight of all 3 if I can, waiitng for the tank to chill out a bit and settle as the new driftwood and me moving stuff aroudn stirred it up a little.

  3. My new Albino from Riverfront...

And hopefully 1 more, little larger but normal coloured Gachua coming tomorrow as well.

Someone who knows more about snakeheads then me please help me out here. The video below is of the aggresive behaviour my first Gachua is showing towards his new tankmate, the Albino. Is this just territorial, or is it somethign else that will end up lethal?

I've since adjusted all the plants and rocks and such in the tank and going to be doing a water change as soon as its posted to help bring everyones stress level down for the night.

    Thanks everyone!

  4. May be helping Fishbrain and myself out today as well!

Really starting to love my gachua even more, his colours have gotten even brighter since the first day I brought him home. Wacthing him hunt is a thrill, I've probably put a good 8-10 hours of that in, in the last week.

Will try and get some better shots of his colours and maybe soon of 2 of them living together.

  5. Anyone tried breeding these for feeder fish?

Heard they are quite easy to breed as they do not need water conditions changed and they are so cheap. Going to be buying a tank and setup just to be breeding feeder fish and want to try these out.

My reason for using them for feeder fish and breeding them is so I have a much lesser chance of introducing parasites into my Channa gachua's tank, I can feed and fatten the minnows up with healthy flake food, so they are a good meal for the channa and not just an non-fed, skinny, parasite infected, lfs feeder.

Let me know your personal experience if you have tried them.

  6. Looks Like Channa Gachua.

I have one of them myself, along with 3 Channa Bleheri.

If you are looking for another we should talk.

It doesn't get along with the bleheri very well.

I love Channa, and that is a nice fish

    :)

    How long is yours?

How much you looking for it if you want to egt rid of it?

  7. Hey all,

Well haven't posted in a long time, moved houses since then and changed stock.

    Here is my 44gal again

Currently housing a Dwarf Snakehead, perfect size for a 44gal from what I could find, aparantly even a pair *maybe breeding would be nice* could live together in the tank.

Here are some videos of him as well.

Currently on a half flake/half live fish diet, don't know what the store fed him but he likes both. Going to switch to mostly live food diet soon.

  8. Anyone got any ideas for some africans to stock a 45gal with?

Looking for colourful yet male and female to try and get some breeding pairs.

I don't mind if they are goign to outgrow the 45gal as I plan on getting a bigger tank along the way and seperating some as they get larger. Bigger tank as in 130-150gal if you were wondering.

Also looking at doing a small sump for fun/learning on the 45g so that can help with waste and filtration.

    Let me know, thanks :)
