  1. Anyone go in yet today? I'm thinkin about heading down here shortly
  2. Thanks, put a few more plants in and going to head out and grab some more here shortly.
  3. RD. I know he is looking for saltwater stuff but I can still voice my opinion as its a public forum. Great store still but when we walked in we weren't greated, actually snapped at in my opinion, its very cramped can barely even look at all the tanks, just needs a better layout. Lots of beautiful fish though.
  4. Thanks guys I will be picking up a bigger tank for the GSP then and start him on a slow cycle moving to brackish then moving to saltwater. I was talking to Riverbend and they sold my some Reef Crystals Reef Salt and said it was perfect for the GSP. I also picked up a hydrometer to check the levels. My gsp wouldn't eat anything so I threw in a hunk of dried krill, gone . I guess the pet store was feeding the tank of GSP's mice so I got to change it u, he is nie an fat now though thats forsure. He still seems to be very happy in his tank, swiming around, checking out everthing. I haven't put a backing on the tank yet and he keeps going up and down like he is looking at himself, is that normal or something wrong? Thanks again
  5. Hey all me again Was wondering what you guys think about my puffer ideas... I got a 10gal right now with a spotted puffer in it, were pretty sure of the T. schoutedeni spieces from thsi website http://puffernet.tripod.com/confusion.html as his bodyshape is the same and he is aparantly a Freshwater only. He has a nice hunk of drift wood and some black sand substrate in there right now and he sems to be pretty happy so far, very pleased. I was wondering, do they do better in schools or singley? I also found some dwarf puffers localy and was wondering, maybe I should get a couple for the 10gal then put the other puffer and maybe some freinds into my 45g as they get a little bigger? The Dwarf's only get to 1.5" aparantly, don't eat live food, just as cute just smaller. What are your guys ideas on this? Veyr open to new ideas + tanks as well. Currently we think we have foudn a Male Albino Oscer and Female Tiger Oscar for a freinds tank, they seem to be breeding tonight been watching them for 3 hours like TV. He also has a 10gal feeder goldfish tank. His brother just picked up a 72gal for Piranha's and it is cycling as we speak with some little fish and Dolo Loachs from the Oscar tank until they are done their business. I wouldn't mind gettnig some mroe tanks to fill in the basement, just would take some time to get them as no job right now Thanks!
  6. Dropped in at Golds myself last night and it wasn't too bad but very cramped and alot of Chiclid's and salt water stuff. I prefer Riverfront myself still.
  7. Maybe the new shop, Elite, wants some fish to show off?
  8. In the middle fo building a 72gal stand the way we used to build shevles. I'd use 4 uprights for a 110 gal, alot of wiehgt there don't want ot risk it on 3. If interested I can take some pics of ours while we work through it today and if I don't then I will take a video of us nce its done, 4 of us jumping on it will be able to hold it up no problem
  9. The 72 is just the first tank for his room. His bro is picking up another 55gal and we organized his room to fit 2 more tanks. By the time the RBP's grow full size, we hope o have moved out which means there will be one 120gal+ tank in the basement for whomever needs alot of room. thanks for your opinions guys!
  10. Thanks guys Yup Calgary area I think the Clown and the Danios were pickin on my neons, 2 were half eaten the rest dead with damage. Oh well poop happens Got some fair sized Bala's (2 for now) and 1 Columbian Shark today, they were cheap and I just need something to keep me entertained until I know the tank is A+ for fish. They are actually doing pretty good right now so hopefully i can just keep them. Aparantly the Columbians are more of a Brackish fish? This true? He was kept in freshwater when I got him and he is doing good so far in my freshwater. If he is more of abrackish, are Bala's compatible with brackish or Fresh only? I hope to be getting a 33gal to put some danios or guppies in to breed as feeder fish for the columbian and my buddies oscar and his bros rbps. He also has a 10 or 15 gallon for keeping Goldfish to feed for his Oscar

    Hey all

Hey all! How's everyone doing? I'm new to the site but hope to be here for awhile I had a 55g tank before with some Corys and Bala's and other fish in it but sold because of financial reasons. Just recently got another tank and am going to pickup one more this weekend as well. 45gal tank courtesy of Riverbend 2 - Coralife 28w 24" Lights Glass top AquaClear 50g Filter I forget the name of the heater. Got 4 fake plants and a couple of rocks One hunk of driftwood One marble castle/wall like ornament Currently I have 1 10yr Clown Loach (doesn't seem tobe too active but wasn't in the old tank either, looks like hes been picked on for most of those 10 yrs) 6 Neon tetras 2 Golden Danios 1 Zebra Danio 3 other Danios (Rainbowish in colour, what type is it??) Picking up a 33g this weekend which I may move the smaller fish into that tank and get some aggresive fish for the larger tank. My buddy picked up his 72g tank and he is goign to be putting 7 RBP's in their soon hopefully.
  12. Does anyone know of anything that you can keep with some RBP without any trouble? We are picking up a 72gal tank and 5-7 RBP here in the next little bit and want to try and keep sme other fish in the tank. We plan on feeding them everyday so they don't get hungry and eat each other, and hopefully not eat any other mates we put in with them?
