  1. Hola people. I am pretty new to the forum. I am from Red Deer. And yes, you can never have too many tanks lol! I am really hoping to meet some more local people into the hobby this way, especially any of the breeders we have locally. So give a shout out peeps!

Yes, I have the "cichlid bug", hehe. Currently I am looking to add some blue haps or something (anything blue) to my 72 gallon and maybe if I can find them, some of the really brightly colored breeds (red, blue/yellow, rust, etc.). Why do I like cichlids so much? It is the closest I can get to having every color in my tank without going saltwater, I guess. :P

Also, I love other tank critters like crayfish, dart frogs, pretty much anything colorful you can put in a tank I will like, lol.

    :D

  2. I want to start a new saltwater tank, either a 23 gallon or 33 gallon. I am a total noob so I need some help.

I would like to put in (eventually) at least a clownfish, maybe a puffer, a royal gramma or something small and blue ( I do not remember the species lol). If anyone has some helpful suggestions, equipment, live rock/sand, etc. that would be awesome.

  3. I am looking for opinions on what type of a bottom feeder (besides a pleco) would have a hope in hell of surviving in my cichlid tank. Keeping in mind also there are two green terrors in there.

It is a 72 gallon tank with a large (unsure what measurement-probably around 12"?? 10?) pleco, 2 green terrors, 2 male convicts (I figure they are male or the tank would be full of convicts, lol) and several other miscellaneous african cichlids (unsure of species). Eventually I will be getting a larger tank (almost all the fish in their are juvenile except the pleco).

Can you post pictures of your ideas? Also are there any other types of fish safe to put in a cichlid tank? (Kind of a long shot but I figure if anyone would know you all would ;)
