  1. Hah that sounds cool. Can you post a pic so we can see what it looks like?
  2. Thanks for the good advice. I'm not sure what you mean about water conditioners with "wc's". Don't know what that stands for... As for the snails, I guess I have no choice but to take a manual approach. For starters I will reduce the amount of gravel to just a thin layer for esthetic purposes. Then I'll try some of Degrassi's good ideas...
  3. I have a mini-size snail (pond snails?) problem so got 3 pea puffers help out a bit. Background Info: I have my 45G tank divided into 25/75 with cherry shrimp in smaller 25% side of the divider by themselves. I introduced 3 pea puffers on the bigger side, where I also have had a zebra loach, 2 dojo loaches, female bristlenose, rasboras, pygmy cories, and endlers for quite awhile. I do weekly 25% water changes with about ~15ml aquarium salt, temp is 22-25C. As you can imagine on the big side there are not many snails, from the zebra loach I guess. But on the shrimp side there are more snails everyday! The plan was to add a puffer to the shrimp side to keep the snail population in check. 3 days after adding the 3 pea puffers (1 male & 2 females) to the big side of my tank, both females died and the male is probably dead somewhere too (tank is heavily planted and decorated with driftwood). I have no idea why all the pea's died! So I have two questions: 1 - Why did the puffers die? 2 - More importantly - what can I add to the shrimp side to reduce the snail population without eating the cherries too. I was thinking maybe a skunk loach? Any advice is appreciated!
