  1. ok I got a pair of "breeding" jewels and put the alone in a 18"x18"X18" tank. they are not very big so I thought that would be big enough. for the first little while they where really excited but they now seem a bit lathargic. also they both have symetrical blackish olive markings on their head and back and the male has a slight yellow tinge.

    are these normal non-breeding colors?

could they be sick? if so with what sickness

what can I do to "boost the mood" if you know what I mean

the water peramiters are normal and they are sectioned off from the other fish by a tank divider.

  2. how goes it?

did my super mind powers work or just make his head hurt? :bang1:

maybe it would help if everyone who was thinking of requesting something in the order was willing to help pay for shipping. if everyone payed 5-10 buck depending on what they want well...

    5

    10

    7

    8

    5

    10

that is 45 dollars with 7 people easy and I know there is at least one more person that would want a few BIG fish so another 10 should b not to hard.

little things like this might ease the tension

250 dollars for shipping - 45 is 205 which seems like a much freindlier number.

    just a thought.

  3. just in case anyone was thinking ofbreeding some new rare fish jeff rapps has these sweet ones (that only grow to a conveinent breeding size too :smokey:)

    Acaronia nassa

    Aequidens patricki

Aequidens pulcher (ok so it isnt rare but who cares)

    Bujurquina robustus

    Bujurquina Naranja

    Bujurquina Zevallos

    cichlasoma dimerus

and did I mention they are all wild caught? I emailed him asking about pairs because I amkind of interested in the patricki and robustus.

this could be a good f1 producicng opportunity if any1 sells to lfs or petshops regularly.

  6. well they are all getting allong fine now. the jewels have a tank divider.for breeding and no one has ever fought with mr t before im not to worried about the future either becuase the jewel is full grown and the terror is only half rown

  7. Ok I have no Idea what is happening to my green terror. 4 days ago je got his lip torn up. Yesterday I started to notice redish brown splotches around his mouth mostly to the bottom. It has gotten worse and there is lots of splotches (about 50percent coverage) immediately around his mouth. There is also a couple all the way down to his chin and on his gill. Please help I don’t know what it is. The ammonia and nitrate and nitrites are normal. But it looks like a parasite or infection please help I will post pics when I can. He is not in a tank by himself but he isn’t being beaten. He is also eating but not with the gluttony as before

  8. he is being shredded by the male jewel, brotherly love  I hope :o

the jewel is smaller to. he also took a chunk out of my midas's fin. it isnt just torn it is a chunk will that grow back to? I just bought bulk of that healing stuff I think it will calm down soon when the two get three inches longer than him.

the strange thing is the hewel doesnt get after the smaller fish

  9. I have some pics that I took today with my moms new camera. thre not that good becuase I have never taken aquarium pictures before and rarly ever ven normal pics

first of all I need to know how to get my pictures onto the intenet.

then how to put them in posts.

and then I ned to know how to get my best pic as an avatar.

  10. ethical or not could this be a way to breed hybryds?

have 2 pairs of fish (lets say a jack and festea) take the un fertilized eggs from one pair and carefully put them with the other pairs egs while they arnt looking then the male fertilizes all the eggs (even the non his ones)

just so you know I am anti flowerhorn/blood parrot but I think a conbination of festae and smaller cichlid (mabey pink convict becuase they breed like crazy) maay be nice in my tank. all others would be destroyed
