  1. Still talking to yourself? Like I said why don’t you head to Facebook groups as this site is dead and only places getting traffic is monsterfish keepers or Facebook groups. All the small groups like this one ,Arowana club Canada and bcaquaria have no traffic and you most likely won’t get a single reply. Even worse in the summer months for most fish forums.

  2. Lol…you are replying to a 14 yr old topic. That person hasn’t even been on for 6 yrs. You are talking to nobody but yourself. Best to go to Facebook or monsterfishkeepers if you want to discuss with people other then talking to yourself. Most members moved and a majority aren’t even in the hobby anymore.

Do you still keep fish like this and have you found any new ones?

I have a odd oscar.. I'm curious about these deformities

This post is 12yrs old. You need to look at the dates as nobody is going to answer you plus this site is dead. Best to go to Facebook groups or Monsterfish keepers if you want people to reply.

  4. Really only course is to go to the veterinarian.  Might find a hobbyist with old stock kicking around but you can't get anything anywhere but maybe some ich cure. Everything coming out now to treat fish is natural remedies and they do squat. Health Canada is the one to blame.

  5. New Health Canada laws have banned the sale of fish medications from local fish stores or anywhere else. If you want to treat your sick fish you now need a prescription from a veterinarian. Take it any way you like but you may have to bring your fish to the vet now. LOL  Government regulating everything now! WOW..Time to retire from the hobby!  I feel sorry for the saltwater hobbyists!

  6. Health Canada has taken all the fish medications out of the fish stores. If you want to treat your fish you now need to take them to a vet. You can only get fish medications by prescription from a vet now. You can thank the government for that one. LMFAO

  7. Most likely no longer. Try Gold aquariums as they have nice discus or Canadian Aqua Farm as they will ship you discus.  By the time you get a reply here you will most likely be out of the hobby as the forum is dead. LOL.  If websites don't work and you can't reach people through their facebook sites then they are probably no longer selling fish.  He hasn't posted on his facebook page since August 2018 so that probably answers your question.

  8. Concept aquariums brought them in. I seen about 10 in the tank so be prepared to see more up for sale in the future when they outgrow their aquariums. Most likely the owners will have killed them before that as anyone buying these definitely doesn't know what they are getting into.

  9. I tried giving away a 230 gallon for free in the past with all the equipment except for the light and had no takers and all you had to do was move it out of my basement. I imagine you shop around and you will find good deals and some not so good deals.

  10. They aren't rare and the price is high because it's big als. You can pick them up for around $150 at that size in most stores and lots of people buy them but they don't do good long term in aquariums as they are a very skittish fish and usually commit suicide by crashing the tank.

You must be new to the hobby as $260 is a small price to pay for a fish either it be rare or hard to get freshwater or saltwater. Once you get into the higher end fish like arowana's and stingrays you are paying in excess of $1000 for a single fish. Check out https://www.facebook.com/belowwater/ stock list and you will see very few fish priced under $100.

The letter is actually supposed to be posted up in the stores for the public to read. The lists contains fish and plants.

  12. This is very sad to hear , is their any information available online in regards to this list and what gov agency is banning them??

Didn't find anything online but I read most of the letter at a lfs outlining that all Channa species are banned in Alberta as of Jan 1st. I am trying to find it online so I can paste the link.
