  1. The ACE fall auction is booked for Sunday October 28th, 2012

    High Park Community Hall

    11032-154 Street NW, Edmonton

    Deliveries: 09:00 AM – 10:00 AM

    Viewing: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

    Auction: 11:00 AM – FINISH

Please book your lots with Michael at mituan@hotmail.com. Anybody can buy, cash only but only members of Aquarium Clubs can sell (we'll even let Calgary members in).

  2. I know Marineland has come out with a LED system for planted tanks. It has a built in timer with a combination of 1W 6500k lights and 3W RGB lights. I haven't seen any in Edmonton yet but Big Al's says he has ordered some in. He also has some Aquatic Life LED lights that he says aren't too bad for planted tanks.

  3. Use a piece of sponge instead of the slotted gates that they provide.

but that would require some "diy" skill which is sadly lacking in the fishclubgirl household....

I know, it is hard to use scissors to cut sponge just a bit bigger than the slotted gate. Myself I like to grab some filter floss and wrap it around the gate and then wedge it in.

  4. Michelle, there will be a June meeting on Tuesday June 5th. No topic, just Han's annual quiz with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. As well there will be elections for executives.

Location will be at Allendale Community Hall

    6330-105A St

    Time: 7:30 pm

I will be posting this in the ACE forum as well.

    Raymond

  5. Dammit. Stupid road trip to Arizona... Didn't have the ability to head up for this. I heard through the grapevine though that someone put in a trio of Cynolebias itapicuruensis. I cannot understand why I didn't get a phone call, FCG. Are we not friends any more? HAHA!

Who is breeding those, and are they going to bring some to the CAS auction in two weeks? Need to know basis.

Yes some guy with a pony tail is breeding those and no idea what he is going to be bringing to the CAS auction.

  6. I picked up a culture of banana worms, Chilatherina alleni, Betta occellata, a bag of pleco caves.

There were not as many tanks as previous auctions, lots of angelfish, a decent selection of cichlids. For shrimp there were cherries and green shrimps only this time. A good selection of different catfishes other than albino bristlenose catfishes. A nice selection of plants, some of which are not seen often at auctions.

As for the fall, it will probably only be an auction. The show will probably happen next spring (May long weekend?) as most of the speakers are already booked up for this year.
