  1. I broke out the camera and I took a few pics of the fish in the 500. I thought I would show off a bit :flex: The silver had a little accident, but he is healing up fine
  2. It is one of the most stunning FH I have seen in person. $500 is not unreasonable. If they cut that in half, Id take him home.
  3. I might go to big als tomorrow. I will take a picture with my cell phone so you can see the FH Randy.
  4. :bang1: Yes I am aware of this. But if you knew the strain and had a female and bred them. Yes because they are flowerhorns, most of the eggs would in infertile. And the 30 or so fry you would raise up, you would get a batch with the potential to has a few stunning FH in the batch. Well if it was that easy , your right, everyone and there dog would be breeding flowerhorns trying to make huge money. But out of the batch from that male you would most likely get a real nice fish out of the batch of fry. Ted: I thought you said you were not going to reply to anything I posted?
  5. I would still be interested in knowing who it came from. I would be very interested in knowing the correct strain of him. If you had a female and bred him you would get alot of stunning fry with kok potential.
  6. Hahaha changing your mind? I told you it was nice. I can't justify spending that much on a single fish right now. When I saw it I made a offer, but they said the best they could do is $400. All the cichlids are %20 percent off anyways :boxed:
  7. You did not answer my question; Are you an active ACE member? Not anymore
  8. ummm, okay outacontrol...? I hope someone buys it soon. Its such a amazing looking flowerhorn. And the longer fish are at big als, well I don't have to say, you guys all know about the large cichlids at als. :chair: It has a impressive nuchal hump.
  9. ohhhhhhhhh. Yeah thats why I don't buy fish form there. They give you 1/3 of what they sell it for. So if they are selling it for $500 they only paid $150 for it, or less. :boxed:
  10. :well: I have never owned any of those fish before... That tig is really cool, its been there for a while. Also, what in my post says anything about me wanting to drop $500 on a flowerhorn? I also rarely buy fish from big als, just look. I asked if anyone knew who it came form. I would love a pearl ray! you gonna buy me one hybrid?
  11. I was at big als today checking out what they had because I have not been there for a while. At the end of the cichlid section near the desk, there is a stunning flowerhorn in the 40 gallon tank. They are asking $500 bucks  Apparently, it came from one of the ACE members. Does anyone know who it came from exactly? Thanks!
  12. You have saltwater rays? Id love to see pictures too!
  13. Okay, post a pic. Maybe for next time I should leave out the genus and the website where the pic came from so it does not take the fun out of the game
  14. dibs lets see if we can get this game going again... Next up
  15. I am not looking to make money. Having the rays and rasing the pups is better the making a buck. I want to trade or sell the rays to fellow hobbyist.
  16. My tank is set at 82.4 F exactly :P .
  17. you posted 1 minute before me so I did not see your post till now
  18. I have been on the hunt for another nice sized and healthy female motoro for breeding. Right now I have a 14'' male and a 15'' female ( and she is preggers atm) I came across this add today and he said he will hold her for me. http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-pets-other-pet...QAdIdZ176879725 A 16'' female will be a nice addition I think. With selling a bunch of things, borrowing money, I almost have 2 bill. I think I can convince my brother to lend me the rest.
  19. before you do anything like that, tons of reading for sure. I know a member on here ( I think Darkangle) has bred flowerhorns. I have talked to him on his methods. I believe he had the tank divided and he fertilized threw the divider to blow the fhjizz over If he reads this topic, he might have some tips for ya. good luck
  20. If you have any aro questions, Id ask this guy. He knows his stuff. Hybrid- I don't believe I said anything discourage bevin, and if it was misinterpreted that way I am sorry. I did not discourage, but suggested another type of fish for a newbie fish keeper. bevin-But if you have your heart set on a arowana ( I can understand why ) shoot as big as possible for tank. Don't look at any tank under 180, unless you want to have a grow up tank that is smaller. In that you will need a much larger aquarium in the near future. Before making any purchases, do tons and tons of reading, homework, and question asking. The internet is a great tool for fish research. Best of luck with whatever you decide. Tucker, hows the rtg pair doing?
  21. I wanted a arowana when I first got into the hobby. It took 5 years before I was ready for one.
  22. k thanks iam guessing they get really big Depends who you ask Its a nice sized aquarium, but not really big. Id say 50 000 gallons is a really big tank
  23. Yes, thats what I am saying. If your new into fish keeping, arowana is not a good choice. Do you keep any fish right now?
