  1. 3/8's on a little tank can seem excessive. Is there a centre brace? Bowing has nothing to do with the seams, just with the thickness of glass, and if there is eurobracing/cleating or trim w/ a brace. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me, I work with tanks on a daily basis.

  2. of 2 types of fish disease that salt and heat won't treat. It's a good bet and then there is always melafix. Neither treatment if done properly will harm the fish.

That's false. Melafix can actually make some diseases worse.

IMO, its more than likely an internal thing going on with your fish....is there plants or anything in the tank? And how new was the tank? There are many things that could contribute to the deterioration of a fishes immune system when prolonged to exposure.

Also, have you dosed with anything besides Prime or Stability? And how new are your bottles of chemicals?

  3. If you buy the NLS it'll just be a waste of money. He's not going to eat prepared foods. Ecosystems Garlic Elixir is a potent stuff that is basically the best garlic additive you can use....its so potent you need to keep it in two contains. Mix mysis, krill, and brine shrimp with a couple drops of that in a water solution and that should do the trick. If not you might be out of luck.

  4. Uropthalamus. False red terror is the common name. Pretty damn mean fish too.

I would guess the same.. , whats the size of the tank?

ok thanks guys........20 gallon, trying to build my way up, only thing stopping me is a move thats going to happen in the next month or two then I want to hit up the flowerhorns

then this tank can be a seperator/sick/fry tank or whatever.....

    thanks again

These things can reach 18" I believe. I had one that was 14" and it couldn't be kept with very many fish.

    Cichlasoma urophthalmus

    That's actually a Cutteri, not a Uropthalamus.

  5. If you're patching it and there is only downwards force on it, silcone will adhere fine to acrylic. BUT if thats gonna be all the support, I wouldn't do it. And also, if you're going to do that, I'd use an acrylic primer and sand down some of the acrylic as well to make it a bit rougher, give the silicone something to grab to.

And Paul, silicone doesn't stick worth SH*T to plexiglass, been there done that lol.
