It will be nicer once I add CO2 and everything fills out.
Had a major algal bloom lest week so I was plucking leaves and thinning like mad.

Vallisneria americana ''mini twister''
Echinodorus "Ozelot"

Alternanthera reineckii 'Purple' (lilacina)
Your basic Val...
Not entirely sure if this is correct but... Hygrophila corymbosa ''Compact''

Couple of updates...
-Ammonia dropped to 0 again, now I've got ~1 for nitrites.
-Removed ALL plants, cut back and replanted.
Took more pictas
Former Spixi snail
A couple of shots of what I see daily...

I'm not sure as well, I'd just think it to be a little more efficient to change it all and have it last 10 years vs 5 years or something with a partial change? I donno.

By the sounds of it, you'd probably be best to remove ALL the old silicone and reseal the entire thing. It would probably give you a little more piece of mind as I do not believe its the best idea to just seal over old silicone (especially is that's what is holding the entire tank together.)

Very nice setup. Are those all real plants?
They look like it, various succulents

Nah, the wood took up way too much room in the tank.
But it will be used in combination with the piece already in my 20G, in hopes of dividing the space for the lady bettas
-
Quick update, Ammonia is back to 0 so, 1 shall do a final water change here, re-scape it a little nicer and throw in a few white clouds

Square jars from superstore, full size are for males and larger females, 1/2 size for smaller females, older males are in community tanks, one per tank, 4 PK females in 10 gallon, 2 spawns growing out and 3 species of wilds kept together. The jars are stacked with the full size on the bottom and half size on top and can be put in the dishwasher. Did I mention I have a betta problem?
I don't think it's a problem, just too much of a good thing

I hope to go if I can snag a car that day lol

Gotta work on having cash first lol and a place to put fish lol
I don't think you have to worry about the place to put fish. There are usually fish tanks for sale at the auction as well.
But then the mother comes into play :shifty:

the maximum water change i have done is 50% I have been doing water changes for about 10 days. also i have not been adding any water conditioner at all. The RO water is bottled water. How much cooler should i go? i have been doing it about 10 degrees Celsius cooler
I have read about using snow-water in tanks to induce breeding in some fish...

Basically I would just look through the loaches.com website...
Dwarf Chain Loaches like this might be nice

I would trim that sponge down a little.
Move the vals towards the back, move the stems up a bit, and plant more closely together.
Then you were interested in a foreground awhile back, so you could use some foreground up front, i noticed some at the front - what plant is that ?
Also a few more rocks here and where wouldn't hurt in terms of hardscape.
Hard to trim the sponge with the way my tubing is set up so that has to stay for now.
As for the foreground plants, I was gonna use them in my other tank. The ones is this tank are just cuttings from the Hygrophila.
I'm kinda using the tank to grow out the plants for now, my original plans have changed quite a bit due to funding

Do you have to be member to sell??
yes
How about to buy?
-
Then 3 new pics of the planted tank, no heater.
-
Since we need pics, I kinda skipped quite a bit of changes within the tank...
Here are the first few pics (with heater as well as the piece of wood I had wanted to use, then cut to size).

I could probably try to land one from school lol
I did a large water change, will do another and once ammonia drops, I'll hook up the CO2

I thought he was a little nutty but I also thought I would swing it by everyone here to see if maybe he wasn't crazy... so far it still seems like there is no need to do what he suggests.
Not at all, it'll save you on your electric bill to run a second bottle...
DIY CO2 with a hose running into a smaller bottle then a hose from the smaller bottle into the tank.
My 10 gal planted...
