It sure is the Quarts. I love it. The fish really seem to like it. Thank you so much for it !! Its the best stuff I have used so far and for the price!!!!!! My aunt used the rest of the bag that I didnt use because she loved it so much. I will be using it in future tanks for sure thanks!!

I mixed up a new batch of Sugar and Yeast and put it in my container. It looks like some of the mixture went down the tube and into my tank. Since now my tank is cloudy. My fish dont seem to care at this point. It was going into my tank for prob less then an hour. Should I be concerned? Of course I dont have any test strips left to tell you what the water is conditions are. Gina

When I first got my 90 the fish store told me there was no way I could grow plants in it. I tried anyways, cuz I love plants and Ive never had a problem what so ever. Ive had a planted tank for 2 years now. I did have the nice florite gravel and all that stuff. I spent lots of money on all the good stuff for a planted tank. I then went back to school. So I have been keeping the tank on a low budget. I think it looks good though, all the plants are healthy and growing. I got rid of the florite and stuff and bought polished rocks for substrate from Canaar. Nothing else. I use Big Als multi purpose plant food.. Usually once a week- 2 weeks. I used to buy the expensive bulbs at LFS. Now I buy from home depot 4- T12's (40 watts). 2 grow lights and 2 daylights. They do a better job then the expensive ones. There around 4.00 dollars each. I bought the light fixture from home depot for 15 dollars. I use 2 Red Sea Turbo Co2 Bio systems on the tank. It does the job just fine. Good enough for me anyways. I just got the lotus. 2 weeks ago. It has doubled in size in 2 weeks. I love it. Im thinking of getting another.

I have an old digital camera that I thought I would take some pictures with. They didnt turn out that good. But you get the general idea. This is my planted 90 gallon with rainbows and rams They are so fast they are hard to take pictures of. Especailly because they see me and think there going to get food. I have a Rena Filter XP3 Filter and I was just wondering what is the best stuff to put in it. Do I need to be buying the carbon and all that other stuff? or not? I dont want to be wasting my money buying needless stuff. So I was just wondering what is the best stuff to be sticking in it? Thanks

Plants 101 is under The Planted tank at the top under Important Topics. If you want to buy Commercial I use the Red Sea Turbo CO2 Bio System. You can get it at Big Als. I use 2 of them in my 90 gallon, but sometimes this is to much. It will cost you 44.00 For the system and monthly 8.99 for the mixture. All you do is pour the mixture in, add water and plug it in. You can make your own and put it in the system as well. They also have an Co2 indicator that lets you know if you dont have enough CO2 or to much. As a safety thing. ITs a little visable thing that turns yellow if you have to much and blue if not enough. I like to use this because you can look at it at a glance. You still must test your water and not Completely rely on the indicator.

Thanks for the info. I also put 75% of water from another fish tank that has been running for years. I have done this alot and have never had a problem. I have had fish in there for 10 days now and not one has died. The only thing that I have done is sifoned out the fuzz wait 2 days and put fish in. Everything seems to be normal.

I havent had any more growth. I added 2 tiger barbs and 2 loaches and everyone seems to be ok. I have no idea what that stuff was. But it hasent seeemd to affected my tank

Hello, I have a 29 gallon fish tank that I have been using on and off. I bleeched it and rinsed it out good. I let it air dry then filled it up with aragonite and slate. I put cycle in it and let it run with filter and heater. There are no fish in it.... I Looked into my tank 7 hours later to find this whitish fuzz looking stuff growing on the aragonite and on some slate. It is clearish, whiteish almost looking like cotton fuzz or mold. I have never seen this stuff before. I vacumed it and there doesnt seem to be anything growing today. I have never used aragonite so I am wondering if this is something that is because of the aragonite. But I really dont think so. Any Help would be appreciated
