:welcome: both of you to AA. I currently have a 75 gallon Lake Malawi tank, and am awaiting impatiently for my husband to bring me about 20 fish from Harold(Fairdeal) today. I will be(hopefully) moving them within the next 3 weeks after some quarantine to the 225 gallon(if I can get it to stop leaking :banned: ) Any questions please feel free to ask, I have learned alot from my short time on the forum.

Thanks for the info regarding plants. I am trying to set up something that is visual pleasing as well as a healthy environment for the fish. The visual part is for my wife so that she does not disown me as she sees what it is costing me:-) I will post a photo when I get it done.

Thanks for that great information. I am where you were three years ago and just starting out. I am sure your advice will save me a lot of grief and wonder what people did before the internet. I have decide to keep SA Cichlids only and hope this works out for me. I kept tropical fish about 40 years ago but things were sure different then. Both equipment and information have come an amazing distance so I am on the learning curve all over again

I was wondering if plants are neccesary for African Cichlids and if so which plants should I be looking at buying? I am setting up about a 50 gallon tank with lots of rocks.

Just wanted to say hi to all the members. I am just setting up a Cichlid tank to keep me entertained in my retirement, so will be probably asking a few questions and advice. I have read much of the forums as a guest and find I have learned much but look forward to sharing my adventures or misadventures setting up this tank.
