That was a great read and glad you are back. Can't wait to hear what you get into and how your setup goes.

Thanks JLake. I checked today and her eyes are all normal again.

I just stripped my female peacock and must have handled her a little too rough. Now she has a film on her eyes. Will that go away or did I just do some permanent damage?

Is it a pump style or do you have to pour it into the bottle cap?

That's my story as well. I started with a 45 gallon planted and moved up to a 90 gallon. I was thinking of starting a 45 mbuna tank. Thanks for the email.

That color of sand looks similar to playground sand. I also have that in my tank and like it a lot. I'm loving your tank btw. Good choice of sand for that wood stain.
You can also look into sandblasting media at the larger auto shops. That is pretty popular and offers a different color.
To clean sand - Fill a bucket half way with sand and stick the garden hose (without any attachments) in so that it touches the very bottom. Crank the water and leave it for a while. It will be nice and clean without the need to do any manual sifting. I hate when the sand goes up your fingernails.

A background and a plant or two and you are set! Good start.
I keep all of my food on a shelf above and behind my tank. I found the 5 year rigged his own ladder and climbed up to grab it. This is a large 90 gallon tank that is over 6 feet tall. It's amazing what these kids can do. It's also nice when they get over their fear of touching the food, that way you don't have to fish the fish food cap out every time.

I hope your daughter likes the new tank. Your going to find all sorts of things in the tank one day. lol

I really like the Lwanda Peacock and that Blue Dolphin. If you could start over again on the 45, would you go with that same size or something larger?

It was really neat to watch him dig. He went on for hours cleaning "his spot" out.
Hurry, the my wife is having a baby. Gotta make room for the kids.

Is it weird when you are looking for tanks before you get a new house?
It's important to get a house with the space and floor support for your dream tank! Community and location comes after. lol

You seriously need to get a designer in there and set you up with someone nice, yet functional.
That's good news regarding the 2nd batch. Are you talking about those mouth brooding bettas?

What is in those pots with the tomatos in them? is it lined with gravel or just soil all the way to the bottom? Have you thought about trying lettuce in there?
-
That looks good. Thanks for sharing. Where are the fish?
I'm planning to set one up for my green house and having some cichlids in the tank. Hoping to heat it with fertilizer in the winter. I love how fast your tomatos grew.
